I agree with Jenny May! I've viewed 5 other beeswax rendering videos and yours it the quickest, easiest, cleanest way to do it. I'm going to start this morning. Thank you!

This works like a charm! I found a cooker on sale for $5.99, and used a filter bag for a five-gallon bucket with elastic rather than a drawstring. A few hours of heating, pull the bag up and onto a round cooling rack on the cooker with the lid on top. When it cooled, I had a perfectly clean slab of beautiful beeswax. Amazingly simple.

Brilliant ! The slow cooker method works well. Thanks from Australia. I will be doing this tomorrow now for sure ! I have watched so many of these videos tonight and yours was the best. To the point and you got the results !

OMG Dave, I have to say, that is the BEST 1st pass I've seen... WONDERFUL JOB, though, may I suggest putting that block into a knee high panty hose, and clearing it even more... Thanks for sharing, and Happy Bee Keeping

This worked perfectly for me. Thank you sir. A couple things to add. I cant imagine this would hurt the crockpot but i used the plastic crockpot covers just to be safe and it made the job even less messy. Also i put the crockpot on high for an hour, didn't burn or affect the wax in any way. So high or low, your choice, low would probably take a bit longer. Also i used regular old cheesecloth folded over itself so you dont need the high grade filter if you dont have it. Once melted i drained the cheesecloth over a honey strainer just to get every last bit, you could use any type of screen or mesh. Hope this helps a bit more. Thank you again for the video

I know this is an old video, but it has great information and it is still relevant. Thank you for showing us this method, which works great. Plus it is an easy clean-up!

I used a 5 Gallon filter bag from Brushy Mountain Bee and high setting on the Crock Pot for approx 2 hours. Then put the bag above to drain on 1/4" hardware cloth and let it all cool for a few hours. Then throw away the gunk. This method works great.

I used a throw away cake tin and melted it's in the oven on 200 degrees and filtered into a cup with a sock that hugged the rim of cup and the wax came out super clean. When I do a big batch I will use a second cake tin with a Tshirt covering to filter it. Worked great

Thanks. I'm trying a modified version of this using an induction heater with a pan of shallow water with a coffee can in the middle with more water and the wax. I found a setting that seems to be holding the temperature steady around 170F.

Thank you for this short, to-the-point video. I do wish I could catch the name of the foundation to which the wax can be traded. This really is a fantastic video.

Hi thank you for the video, it has made life so much easier for me working with beeswax. I was wondering, do you have a way for cleaning the strainer after a period of use and it becomes too dirty? I'm trying to find a way to clean it so I can keep reusing it but I can't find a way. Hmm!

great! low or high setting on crock pot?
@distortedregulation4 жыл бұрын
Either. I put mine on high for almost an hour and it easily melted without affecting the wax. So i would assume low would just take a bit longer

So much wax gets wasted in cloth or paper filters, and with the trash held in the filter and the wax supposedly draining through all that highly absorbent matter.
