Lovely version of a beautiful song...I can't help being distracted due to the combination of an Irish accent--I think--and Southern California hummingbirds--I guess--oh, nice of the video to resolve the mystery... Anyway, her style, both beautiful and thoughtful, brings a dimension out in the lyrics I hadn't listened to before--not the desperate rebellion of the loved one (I'd always felt the heartache for her), but the poignantly tattered ideals of the lover. It's so sad and sweet to remember when people thought they could defy social expectations...or at least hoped they could for a minute.
