You 'ol sweet-talker Mitch!!! Nice to see Jenny!!! How can anybody's day be bad, with Jenny around?!?! Back-in-the-day, when I was on the farm,.....we used to get nice hot homemade meals delivered to us. Sometimes it was Pot Pies, Chili, Cheeseburgers, different types of Casseroles, different types of soups, mashed or baked potatoes with beef, or pork. And then sometimes it was PB&J sandwiches and chips. Didn't have cabs or microwave ovens back then, so sometimes we had to heat or reheat things by putting them on the exhaust manifold. Used a lot of aluminum foil and metal containers back then.
Always great to see your videos. A new faith based family helping and building each other up. Farming brings families closer to each other. All I can say is keep it up…it’s refreshing to see! Best wishes!

I watch Cole's channel also. Probably not the favorite meal but statistically speaking the food item eaten most often in his videos over the years hands down is take out pizza. Did both of your parents play that song when you two were kids? The Go-Gos We Got The Beat made it to #2 late Dec 81 to Jan 82. Joan Jett's I Love Rock And Roll was holding down the #1 spot in the same time frame.

I'm always amazed to see your beet yards with old towed harvesters, trucks in the fields packing the field, and spreading dirt on the roads. In France, we use self-propelled machines, semi-mounted buckets on farm tractors with low tire pressure, and end-of-field storage to regularly supply the sugar factory in the event of crop failure caused by heavy rain... Reclaiming the heap with a digger, using non-muddy trucks! Finally, we're thinking of limiting sugar consumption to limit the number of diabetics! Daniel depuis la France

Any hot food brought out to the field is appreciated. It means a lot to the people in the field. Cold sandwiches get old after a few days.

At the end of the day any meal that is hot is my favorite. Cold sandwiches get old after awhile. My friend's wife makes a lot of meals for us. She makes homemade beef stew & chili that is awesome.

Another great video! Good of Jenny to bring you snacks! A good go to field meal is pizza! (homemade or bought) And usually eats well cold when your hands are busy running equipment! Sausage on a bun or hot dogs work good as well! But honestly, anything is better than an endless diet of junk food through harvest time. Greetings from a farmer in New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada!

Sure enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing with us! To answer Jenny's question about meals, hot dish, lasagna, grilled cheese are all favorites of mine. Things that are not messy or easily spilled, and you can set down when you need both hands. 🙏🙏🙏

Glad this year was a nice year for digging, not much mud on the road and pretty quiet in the shop.

The weight that you were talking about is probably what they called a window weight a rope was tied in the hook and the other end of the was connected. to the window trough a pulley to keep the window open
@mikewood3203 Жыл бұрын
The long round weight was probably a window weight used to help open and close windows in old houses. They were built into the walls and look like really big fishing weights.

Yes. It very well may a counterweight for the old wooden frame verticle sash windows.

Where is your farm located. I am a truck diver and haul alot of corn from Park River or Crystal or Dryton and other places in to Canada and it’s very interesting to see the beet harvest in action.

Another great video!! Jenny brought up a great point when she was worried about going to the wrong field. How do you know which field is which? Your dad says "Hey Mitch, go down to the pinto field and start cultivating.". Which pinto field? Are the fields named according to roads or some other "landmarks"? And 6 generations farming the same land?? That is VERY cool. YOU can definitely say your family roots are firmly anchored in the dirt!!! Take care!!!
@Drew-in-NoDak Жыл бұрын
Everyone has their own way of doing it, some go off of the name of the person they acquired the land from. (Parsons, Johnson's) Some go off of natural features in the area (river qt, the sandpit qt) and some people use strictly township, section and quarter numbers. (Opps township Section 20 SW qt, Harrison township section 34 NW) The township and section names are mainly used when planning and talking to agronomist or custom applicators. Or very large operations.

Looks like 88,000lbs every truck right on the nose;) Did you have to leave any? We had to leave 4% at the Minn-Dak co-op.
@oneninerniner3427 Жыл бұрын
88k with a permit? yup right! on the button! ;) Our farmer gets pinched by the DOT because even though he has a cart with a scale, it's tough to get them exactly because the trucks don't all weigh the same empy. It has been better loading trucks with the cart versus loading under the lifter, a little less tare dirt too I think. I mean our cart operators try hard to get close and not overload them, but it still seems to happen sometimes. And then the commie Minn DOT goes into American Crystal and checks weight slips too:( Think I heard ND allows a little higher gross weight. Am Crys had to leave a few-ish % as well. Good crop!
