When the family of George Newton (Charles Grodin) decides to adopt a cute St. Bernard puppy, the patriarch soon feels displaced by the dog. Before long, the adorable canine, dubbed Beethoven, has grown considerably, leading to household mishaps. There's alot of funny moments but one of the funniest things about it is Dr. Varnick who's the main villian and the two other bad guys played by Oliver Platt and Stanley Tucci who are basically working for him by stealing puppies. They crack me up every minute they are on screen and I think Platt and Tucci did a few comedies together.

For those who don't know, Brad and Brie wanted to trick George into signing the contract to take control of the company. That's why Beethoven did his best to distract George from signing the paper and trick Brad in throwing the ball. Brie also broke the glass in purpose so that Alice would leave them alone for a moment.

True, you know dogs were also smart animals. Not only that they got brilliant sense of seeing, hearing, and smelling. Also they can sense people or animal's feelings and intentions that we Humans have a little understanding about them. I salute this St. Bernand. St. Bernands were loyal and excellent babysitters - A working dog, but not used for hunting. Also if you own a St. Bernand you have to give a lot of food with the proper diet, adjustment, sizes/weigth, and calories from every age. Also don't give 25% high protein too.

I never understood the intentions of this snooty couple when I was a kid either. Brie interrupting Alice asking her about Beethoven. Brad interrupting Alice asking for a refill of his lemonade. They both knew that Alice had picked up on how shiesty they were and tried to get her out of the picture ASAP. And yes of course the glass “accidentally” breaking. I never picked up on how and and why Beethoven kept bumping his head up onto George’s arm. I learned that he was just trying to prevent George from signing that contract after Beethoven overhearing about their intentions of taking over George’s company. As an adult, I think to myself “if only that dog could talk”. I thought it was such a shame that George never found out the true intentions of what they were planning on doing. You know you’re an adult when things like that aggravate you. It is strange watching movies like this as an adult and the things we pick up on. I watched it recently with my niece and nephew aged 8 and 10 and they loved it. They were laughing so hard at this scene.
