Não consigo entender como a maioria das pessoas gostam de sub musica e não apreciam a verdadeira música. Classical music the unique true music. And Beethoven the great!

Thomas Mesa and Dina Vainshtein did a truly beautiful performance of Beethoven's 3rd Sonata for Cello and Piano. This is a piece that is a true duo. There is no accompanist here so that Dina Vainshtein never played too loudly. Beethoven meant them to be equal contributors to this magnificent piece. I've heard this piece played by a variety of the finest US, Latin American and European musicians. The only performance that's on a par with this one is the one I heard by Sol Gabetta and Seung Jin-Cho. And that's a true compliment to Thomas Mesa, because Sol Gabetta is probably the finest European cellist, although she's originally from Argentina. Seung Jin-Cho is a fine young South Korean pianist. I believe that these two young US players have a bright future ahead for themselves. They are wonderful.

I find the piano a bit too heavy in the Scherzo but I liked it overall

If anything, the pianist seemed to have a notion that she was accompanying the cellist -- a wrong notion indeed. This was written as a duo not as a solo by a cellist and a pianist accompanying. Her playing should have been much more assertive. She is an excellent pianist. As the cellist explained before they started playing, despite Beethoven's emotional difficulties, he wrote this as an exuberant piece of music. Our extremely talented cellist attempted to play the piece as such and did very well.
