From the time he lived in Bonn until he moved to Vienna, Beethoven composed the following three concertos for piano and orchestra:
1. Piano Concerto in E-flat major (1784)
Published in 1890 as "No. 0 WoO 4"
2. Piano Concerto in B-flat major (1787 - 1789)
Published in December 1801 as "No. 2 Op. 19"
3. Piano Concerto in C major (1798 - 1800)
Published in March 1801 as "No. 1 Op. 15"
Therefore, this "No. 1" is not his first piano concerto.
As with the Piano Concerto No. 2, this C major concerto reflects Beethoven's assimilation of the styles of Mozart and Haydn, while its abrupt harmonic shifts demonstrate Beethoven's musical personality.

I have listened to other piano concerto in C major composed around the same time which is almost the identical twin to this concerto.

Actually I think it's Zimerman conducting tho, right? They only performed the last 3 together and then after Bernstein died, Zimerman completed the set by recording the first two concertos, both playing the piano and conducting. It was released as a complete cycle.

Es ist ein mitreissendes Werk, insbesondere mit Krystof Zimmermann oder auch mit den beiden Damen Buniatishvili (piano) und Marin Alsop (Drigat). Die letzten 34 Takte der Largo sind besonders euphorisierend.
