I'm a great fan of Chineke and the Black British Classical Foundation two greats that ought to be supported.

Second movement is hands down one of the most gorgeous melodies I've ever heard! Beethoven was the ultimate tormented genius.

Listening to this has me full of emotions. It's so perfectly conducted, with the orchestra watching and listening to eachother, the dinamics are at perfect level at all times. Just beautiful. Thank you

Great job, guys! Thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to this performance, especially in light of the inclusion of some of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's fabulous work! Keep up the excellent work. Let's hope we can all get through #lockdown and back to some sense of normalcy for the entertainment industry soon. _/\_

The performance was great, absolutely incredible. I enjoyed every moment of it. One thing did catch my eye and I can actually see some of the audience looking her way as well. The woman to the right of the director playing the violin, eyes popped out of her head and sat on her face cheeks, "literally".

In isolation 6 weeks just found this old video. So many able musicians particularly those of African descent for whatever reason, there are many, did not go onto fulfil their potential. However, with orchestras like Chineke, which I had the pleasure of seeing live at Basingstoke Anvil, the future looks very bright. I got back into classical when I heard Wynton Marsalis recording of the Hayden and Hummel then years later for the first time I listened to the BBC Proms in its entirety Wayne Marshall was host. It is said, that music is a universal language, hopefully through music the world will become blind to the colour of peoples skin.

Yes with Braimah as the soloist. As the Elgar (cello obviously) inspired Sheku, so the Beethoven Violin Concerto inspired Braimah.

Très bien. Le chef est excellent. Mais la synchronisation son/image est mauvaise, et le timbalier un peu trop furieux !

Great orchestra! But I thought it would help if the musicians fine tune up their instruments before coming on stage TOGETHER with the conductor. Thus, the audience will not be let waiting.
@obbzerver6 жыл бұрын
Common practice for orchestras - however it would help if their intonation during the performance was tighter.
@laurelindon9 жыл бұрын
Oh God.. the timpani is breaking the picture... lower intensity!
@HornPlayer024 жыл бұрын
Having been in the orchestra for this performance I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. It is simply how we were microphoned for the video. Paul is one of the finest and most sensitive musicians I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
@laurelindon4 жыл бұрын
@@HornPlayer02 Probably... I'm definitely not blaming the musician, he's awesome. But there must be some problem with the audio rec then. Everything sounds deep, hazy and muffled, like hearing it from inside a barrel. Meanwhile, the timpani breaks windows... :D

Outstanding performance. It's a shame that Woke Culture has now deemed classical music a symbol of "stuffy elitist classical culture that bolsters the rule of white males and suppresses the voices of women, blacks and the LGBTQ community" (see link to article). Apparently, their insanity knows no bounds. Classical music is for everyone. It pierces our minds and bodies, and awakens and enhances our innermost senses and selves. There is no sense of division in Beethoven's works. There's is only peace, love, joy, harmony, and sometimes even sadness. If one assumes something is racist, or sexist, or any other ist or ism, they will always find a twisted way to make their argument seem valid to others. Why must people ruin everything that is good and pure in this world? nypost.com/2020/09/17/canceling-beethoven-is-the-latest-woke-madness-for-the-classical-music-world/
