With this Violin concerto being my favourite, I listen to many concerts of this same wonderful masterpiece. Whether it’s the auditorium, but the tone of Annabella’s violin is sublime! She executes this piece with such control and calmness. It is masterful! Bravo!!!

The Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, is a work by Ludwig van Beethoven. The musician has studied the great treatises devoted to the violin, notably « The Art of the Violin » by Pierre Baillot (1771-1842). He became the friend of several great masters of the bow, to the considerable influence of the 19th century. The Concerto highlights the personality of the soloist, the richness of the orchestration and a relatively measured virtuosity of the solo violin. Bravery is not very present in the first movement, « Allegro ma non troppo » which opens with the dull beat of four notes on the timpani, the quality of the colors being paramount. A brief cadenza introduces the voice of the soloist after the orchestra has expounded the two themes at length. Their originality, which has so disconcerted the public, mixes the reminiscences of folk tunes and opera melodies. The solo violin orders the various thematic groups and imposes a feeling of unity. The passage of the themes to the orchestra or the violin does not cause any ornamental digression. The content lyricism of the score strikes us as surprisingly modern right down to the cadenza that precedes the coda. The second movement, « Larghetto » recalls the structure and atmospheres of the two Romances for violin and orchestra. It is treated in the form of variations. The melodic element is developed mainly in the high register of the violin. In the « Rondo allegro » the dialogue between the violin and the orchestra is as if improvised, a moment of pure poetry that slips between dream and reality. Rhythmic punctuation is entrusted primarily to the cellos. They let the soloist deploy the full extent of his technical means. Three movements whose common characteristic seems the importance of density, does not oppose the soloist. This one, on the contrary, clarifies the orchestral discourse, seems to reinforce its expression, which he permanently subordinates to his natural gifts as a virtuoso. Never before had this instrument known greater glory in its concerting role. This climate is one of the happiest in Beethovenian literature since the master draws on the amorous exaltation. *Lucien*

WoW Arabella! She's my favorite on Beethoven's concert!!! Strong and Flawless rendition! I haven't hear this one, Exceptional Again! Besides she's so Sweet and Beautiful Lady.
