If you watch this I think you can get an idea of what happened, one of the ensemble was late over the top of the trap, which meant it wasn't lowered, Stage Management will be cuing it from SL - When she cleared it, they lowered the trap, but then it was late because it takes a while for it to travel down - stop and then travel up THEN you notice the Alex and Sophia did a much shorter bow to bring it back into time for when BIG SANDY is cued on, that has to happen when the music changes and is a hard cue in the show! Much quick thinking there by SM and the Cast!! Looks very elegant and almost like it was meant to happen that way! Anyway, my thoughts from someone who worked in theatre.

When i subbed in the orchestra there is a vamp in the curtain call that says “jump any beat” meaning the music can vamp and we jump to big sandys cue when the stage is ready. Regardless of who’s late. It all works out for the orchestra too.
