The bigger question is can that Sideshow sculpt get a better paint job to reveal the sculpt that's actually there? You can give that Sideshow sculpt a sinister expression and close up that stare by lowering the upper eye lids. Plus Beetlejuice doesn't just have black circles around his eyes. There should be allot of transition from the skin to the lower eyelids with a paint wash like what was done on your custom head sculpt. Same scenario around the upper eyelids as well. Yeah... lets not kill the Sideshow sculpt just yet because I think it is salvageable. Can it beat your custom? Not a chance, because the sculpt on that one really nailed his mouth properly. But I DO think the Sideshow can be redeemed. It never should have gone out in its current form though. They need to have done several more rounds figuring out the proper paint apps the factory could duplicate. I would like to see the original prototype and see if the factory was even faithful to what that looked like. I don't like to place blame on artists unless its just really a big miss from scratch. Factories do mess these up.

Justin, this idea of yours is GENIUS: when the custom piece is just a small part (like e cape or even being the headsculpt) you could merge the BAF with the review (as long as you haven’t reviewed it yet). For longer projects, do a proper full BAF episode! Cheers 😁

Nice review Justin ! Stock head sculpt is terrible no doubt! This new head sculpt is a major upgrade but i feel like the skin tone is off !! It’s like a flat pink instead of a pale white how it is in the movie !! And i feel like he doesn’t have enough hair it’s supposed to be a little more fluffy!! This hair looks like it has hair moose in it 😂

The Juice is Definitely Loose and it's Showtime! I thought the 1/6 Scale Sideshow Beetlejuice Headsculpt, wasn't Film Accurate at all. But the Caine Productions Headsculpt Looked Dead on Michael Keaton. I agreed Justin! What a Masterpiece Indeed! And I agreed the Custom Headsculpt, goes very well with the Sideshow Body with Outfit. 😎 🙌 👌👍👍

Hey Justin, have you ever considered getting a resin printer, so that you could make and paint your own accessories for your figures and displays? SS Beetlejuice sculpt of V2 looks great and strange but true, I think SS edged over Hot Toys for ones. HT sculpt looks inferior.

Thanks for this great review. Something is still off with that custom sculpt head. Don't get me wrong. It's far better than what came with the original figure but still not quite there. Looking at the upcoming SideShow release, their head sculpt is still incorrect. I think the best interpretation of a satisfactory Beetlejuice head sculpt is Neca's Cult Classic Series 7 Beetlejuice from 2008. There's a custom headsculpt from an Ebay user from Poland that has a pretty close, accurate headsculpt for sale.
