I grew my first turnips this Spring in a no-dig bed with less than optimal horse manure compost and rainfall coupled with transplanting late in the season. It was a total failure. I planted a Fall crop in a 4' x 8' frame filled with much better horse compost with an abundance or rain, and I have so many turnips that I have nowhere to store them! Thank you for the storage tips, and your harvest looked wonderful! Now to get my beet(root) to grow! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice harvest! Both the beets and the turnips look very healthy. The wood chavings definitely came in handy, so great score. 😊

Hi great to see you and how your beds are going , they are doing so well and wouldn't believe your on heavy London clay the way you have the beds looking and condition of the soil. Stay safe Bill and Val

Great idea for storage if your temps are not freezing. I just picked the rest of mine and will have to either freeze or can them. I think the slugs prefer the tops. I didn’t find any bites on mine in spite of there being a lot in the tote I grew them in. I find that challenging myself was the best thing I ever did. Have grown more varieties of edibles in the last 4 years than I did the last 43 years. Good to see you. Cathy

Very nice ..i have an issue regarding mosture level in worm bin. Request you to make a detailed video on this sensitive and important topic because it is very important for survival and multiply the worms. Thanks in advance.

I had a peek and the worms are working that spot but I didn't want to disturb it or them too much. Will have an update soon. Cheers my friend. Hope all is well 😊👍

I see you twisted the tops off of the beets have you noticed they bleed a lot less if you twist them instead of cut them And that is a perfect size for the turnips I can't grow them either I've heard if you're going to grow fruit or roots they need as much sun as possible and I don't have a whole lot of sun thanks for the fantastic video

I'm testing same thing right now too, container vs garden planting. My garden dirt is so healthy, its absolutely full of worms, cant plant anything without finding 10-30 worms in a 30 cm sized spot... it's rather hilarious the shear amount of worms I have on my land... haha

When you store the beets / turnips like this, what is the temperature limit? I've heard they need to stay below 50 degrees F (10 degrees C). Is that accurate? Or will they keep at even higher temps?

Perpetual spinach 😁 Sounds so much nicer 😂 It grows much easier in my soil than the likes of the Amazon or Emilia which I struggle a bit with for some reason. And Mrs Worms can't tell the difference in taste 😁 Hope all is well Brian 😊👍

Think I would’ve left about 45 cm of stalk on the beetroot rather than tear it that close.
