Beetroot Lipbalm/No Vaseline/With Ghee/Only 2 ingredients For Soft Pink Lips/Natural Lipbalm

This is great only most people don't keep their lip balm in the fridge. In this method it's needed so it doesn't grow ickies in it. If you want to eliminate the need for the fridge so you can take your balm with you. Instead of straining the beets, after grinding put them on parchment paper stread very thin. Dry it out in the oven or dehydrator. Take the powder and infuse it into the ghee. Strain the infusion once done and there you go. It is the water content that make it have to be kept in the fridge. Eliminate the water and now you don't have to worry about mold or anything else growing in it outside the fridge. Shelf life is the same as ghee. Not sure what ghee is but this can be done with other oils that become solid. Like cocoa butter, mango butter. Oils that don't become solid will need the help of beeswax. Also, while vitamin E will extend the shelf life, it is not a preservative. Again I say, vitamin e is not a preservative. A preservative prevents mold and other bacteria which is not what vitamin e does.

@@Nellyc1 You don't want the oven on. The heat will kill the benefits of beet. So you should plan for this to take some time. The less liquid used to blend it will shorten the dry time. Typically this may have to rest in the oven overnight. The thinner you spread it the shorter the process time. I do this with coffee grounds for my compost so it does mold in my scraps containers. Works great.

Instead of chopping, liquidizing and straining, you can bypass this by simply roughly slicing and just boil in good bottled water until cooked, discard the beetroot then reduce the liquid and mix with ghee. Much easier !

Pamela J juice 2 large beets, boil the juice until it coats the bottom of the pan, add 1 tablespoon of ghee, and 1 tablespoon of beeswax , 3 drops of vegetable glycerin, ( the glycerin is what helps to keep the lips moist and smooth also shiny ) if you can get beets powder, go for it. I prefer to use the juice. Good luck. Blessings

Just save the peel in the fridge after u cook the pulp.. Everytime u want a tint take a piece squish the inner part of the peel n apply the juice on ur lips then apply ghee.. Simple! Wen u r going out carry only ghee n a peel..

Hi! I made this lip balm Except that there's a small error. I added little bit water in mixy because it was not churning. Double filtered the juice and heated on gas.made a paste like u said cooled it and added ghee. The problem is my balm is a bit watery.can i heat the same.will it get spolit? or i will have to make the balm all over again

Hi..I tried this DIY yesterday.. 1. The ghee doesn't mix with the it, even after refrigerating, ghee was collecting on top of it.. 2. Ghee smell is there when I put it on my lips and it wasn't settling well on the lips.. I dint really like the outcome of this diy..
