My 16 yr old daughter bought this for me last year and I’ve carried it a few time but for the past month I have went beast mode on this knife cutting everything and it holds up and the slim carry is a dream

It feels like a fixed blade. It's so solid!

Code 4 is my favorite Cold Steel knife. The egos and size is like a custom made knife for my hands. I did put anti-slip material on the very slippery scales the minute I received it. That made it a super, everyday carry knife.
@BigRedEDC3 жыл бұрын
Definitely a beast! Will handle pretty much anything you throw at it!!
@toddcarr.3 жыл бұрын
Very cool looking knife. Definately prefer the cold steel knives with larger handles such as SR1 and 4MAX but for a thinner blade work knife the recon 1 and American lawman feel much better in hand. Cold steel definately nails the heat treat on all their knives. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
I really like the look of the Recon 1. It's one on the huge want list for sure.
@mynamesjustbill15833 жыл бұрын
I picked up the drop point Code 4 a few weeks ago and have been putting it to hard use bordering abuse at work daily. No finish scuffs or wear and the blade holds up great! I can’t believe it took me so long to get one!
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
I'm super impressed with the finish. I thought it would get scratched up fast, but it didn't.
@airadaimagery6923 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, this is a really good knife imo... Most useful knife in my rotation! I’ve skinned out many deer with my Code 4. Not the one with the tanto blade though...
@jn6513 жыл бұрын
Nice review. The only comparable Cold Steels I've handled were both blade styles of the Air Lite and that thing has a really thin handle too (and I prefer grippier handles than that aluminum). So my hands measure almost exactly like yours and I probably wouldn't be too excited about using this one either. Still, lots to like in theory, and no denying it holds up to a litle abuse!

Great review. I agree this knife is really tough. I beat the heck out of mine for about a year but ended losing it in a lake while fishing. I replaced it with a Twosun TS72 in m390 and never looked back. Similar in size and ruggedly built but much easier to deploy and better pocket clip.
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Oh man, that sucks! I'm gonna check out that Twosun.

That's a tough-looking knife. I like the compound grid..
@timbo43743 жыл бұрын
I like my Code 4. It fits my hand fine, and it's easy in and out of the pocket. It is kind of slim though, and that thinness kind of affects the grip a little. I'm ok with it, but it definitely does feel different in hand than my other Cold Steel knives.
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to decide on a smaller, budget Cold Steel to fit "my" hand. This one is solid though!
@danielsmit35242 жыл бұрын
I love my Code 4. So much so that I now have 3. As for opening and closing, it just takes practice. If you realy nead to get it open quickly and under circumstances where the deployment must not fail, I find that it shakes out very nicely. You should also give the AD10 a try. That is great quality! But it is a bit bigger....
@BeezBlades2 жыл бұрын
I have an AD10 on loan, and I will be checking it out soon! I'm looking forward to it!

I'm not a tanto fan so i wouldn't go for that bladeshape, but if you ever wanted a knife that is built for hard use, this is the knife you want. I do have the Spartan and the Ti-lite and i love them this one is high on my wishlist. Thank you for the review.
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
You are welcome! That Spartan has a mean recurve, and talk about a handle! Man that thing's not going anywhere. The Ti Lite looks like a sticker for sure. First time I've looked at that one was today. I'm looking at more of them to see what I want next.

I absolutely love this design. I had the all black spear point variant. I just couldn’t get passed the slick aluminum scales...they are terrific in the pocket and very slim...just to slick when I used it. I have been thinking about getting another one just so REC could cerakote it for me, maybe that will add some traction
@BeezBlades3 жыл бұрын
Oh! That's an excellent idea!
@BrandonGavin_EDC2 жыл бұрын
If you all want better grip on it, get a sheet of grip tape from a local skate shop or online, I recommend black magic as it’s not too thick, trace the handle and cut the grip tape out and put it on.
@jakefromohiostate2 жыл бұрын
@@BrandonGavin_EDC I’ve seen several people do that, I tried it on a smaller knife…not a fan. Just personal preference

Checking some older Beez videos. How come you do do the super seven anymore? Anyway, I have this baby and love it, but since this video I have also become familiar with the Engage. I just purchased the Cold Steel Engage 3" because that are pretty much on universal sale July 2023. Can't wait to compare the two. I would compare it to the 3.5" Engage (which I already have) much that is a much thicker knife.
