Again I love these! My dream one day is to be able to understand comedy in a foreign language. That would mean I am truly fluent. These videos help. Thanks Fedor. My goal is to reach conversational A2 by the end of the year! PS. Yes, Mongolians! I think he is meaning by “mongoloid” 😅

He doesn't mean mongolians, mongoloid is the scientific name of the asian race, the narrow-eyed people :)

Oh, no. Please don't start acquaintance with Russian comedy with Nurlan Saburov. He's the TV-comedian. RUSSIAN TV comedian. Remember Russian TV? - Yes, he works there.

It's funny but sad that he has to share his truth in a joking format. For his sake, the comedian, I hope he has a genuine safe place to talk about discrimination and it's effect on him and his people's life. He's joking but jokes add sugar to the truth to make it easier to hear. And it seems he suffers from discrimination a lot more in the society than most people are comfortable with acknowledging. We deal with the same in the US. Minimizing the discrimination that many people experience by joking about it. In the meantime, most people can ignore and continue with their habits because it's just seen as a joke.

the discrimination is Russia is not that big. i do not mean that there's no discrimination AT ALL, but it's much less than in other countries - that what the Soviet Union has taught them all - that all people are equal no matter what sex they have or race, or nationality. it doesn't go from a fear being cancelled, it's just basic soviet ussian education\mindset.

Chill mate, he in particular doesn't necessarily experience ANY discrimination in his life like at all, and his wife is Russian. The only thing that you can somehow compare in the US to the type of discrimination he's referring to is the discrimination of Mexican migrant workers, who are perceived as poorly educated, ill-mannered and disrespectful of the law. The fact that bad people among the migrants have earned a bad reputation for their people, doesn't mean that every migrant is like that and most Russians know this. Any other type of discrimination is not even a thing here.

@@bshthrasherWhile I think that we never had that level of discrimination as US, it's also not true that the only type of discrimination we have is against foreign workers. We just do not percieve it as seriously. We have plenty of gender, sexuality, religious, ableism discrimination and what not. Not officially though, only sexuality one is official
