Internal-7/Darkside was actually confirmed to have been cancelled in 2017, Santa Monica Studio had the game in pre-production from 2013 and worked on it for about 4 years before cancelling the title and restructuring the Studio. The Artwork certainly looks awesome and it has been stated that the Studio has another game in development alongside God of War: Ragnarok. Perhaps the work done on Darkside won't go to waste.

Everything I'm looking at seems to say it was cancelled in 2014, and it was only in 2017 that the details leaked. God of War was released in 2018, and so it had to have been in development for some years before then. They do have multiple teams, and I'm excited to hear about what they're working on. Maybe it's Internal-7/Darkside or something else. Only time will tell.

Wish to see it released someday. The artwork blew me away and I totally would play something like this. Seems fresh and... a what might be a full of action kind of Rpg.

It is actually confirmed that Cory is working on a brand new AAA sci-fi game, so it could be resurected 🤔

It's looking like a possibility. Would be cool to see it happen.

Please no. It looks stupid. Even if they do make it, it has to be more impressive than Mass Effect, Dead Space, Calypso Protocol, Star Wars Battlefront, SW: The Old Republic, Guardians of the Galaxy 2021, No Mans Sky, Returnal .....just about every Sci-Fi game that has come out in the last 10 years or so. These images from this failed I.P. look very Mid in comparison to all that. So...please no. If you aren't willing to make all those games look like dogshit, then don't make it. The competition is too fierce. God of War is it's own little category and doesn't have any real competition. No one else is making a game where gods beat the shit out of each other. And if they did, they are very forgettable. I guarantee any example someone brings up to prove me wrong will be a game no one ever thinks about. Honestly.

I'm just going to ask this question because I do not know if it could work: could another Studio purchase the game that they were making? the reason I asked that because there are some studios that did that like Disney buying the rights of Spider-Man from sony.
@InwardGames4 жыл бұрын
Disney did not buy the rights to Spider-Man. Sony still owns those rights. Disney and Sony just made a deal to have Spider-Man in the MCU. Sony would never sell those rights because Spider-Man is far too valuable. Also, Sony owns the rights to whatever game Santa Monica was making before God of War. They will never sell the rights to that game because they could always make it in the future. It's much better to sit on a potential gold mine rather than give it to someone else.

Inward Games Sony owns the MOVIE rights to Spider-Man. Disney owns everything else. Even Spider-Man Ps4 was made after Disney asked Sony. Sony would need Disney’s permission to make a Spider-Man 2 game. That’s also why Disney can put Spider-Man in cartoons, toys, and theme parks.
@InwardGames4 жыл бұрын
@@adnan8837 This is true. The poster above specifically mentioned Disney buying the rights from Sony, so I assumed they were talking about the movie rights. That being said, it appears that Sony actually did own the merchandising rights for awhile, and sold them to Disney in 2011 which was a separate deal from Disney buying Marvel in 2009. Ruizma may have been referring to that. My apologies to them, and thank you for pointing that out.

Is it canceled or was it just on pause? I am pretty sure Cory Barlog is working on this game rn. We know he is working on a game, Cory Barlog is too mysterious lately. Deleting his Twitter and such. Also one of Santa Monica studios devs said he is working on something that's just as exciting as GoW Ragnarok. What the hell could be on the same level as GoW Ragnarok if not this?
@InwardGames2 жыл бұрын
It’s possible he’s working on it, but it’s all speculation at this point. I do think they said he was working on a sci-fi game.

@@saberzer094 - How do they own the rights to something they never made?
@saberzer0944 жыл бұрын
@@PartStupid because they have drop the rights to the ip duh. All the original work they did on is still owned by sony aside from maybe things like this concept art. Plenty of games never get made but studios retain the rights to the name and any early work that was done. Scalebound exist in some partial playable for xbox is sitting on the rights to it, Silent Hills exist in a playable form Kojima himself said it was somewhere around 60-70% complete.
@PartStupid4 жыл бұрын
@@saberzer094 - They do not own the rights to the concept is what I was saying and that is also what the OP says that you were replying too (not the concept art). So to be clear yes they own individual concept art but they do not own the concept of the world or game. Hopefully you know see the difference.
@saberzer0944 жыл бұрын
@@PartStupid um yeah no the game in whatever format it us in is owned by sony it remains at sony. Anything develop under the games name is trademarked and if it has a fully fleshed out story that is written down is copy righted. Ideas and concepts can be taken else where and shopped around but nothing thats under the trademark. Your telling me if I write book copyright it but never publish its fair game?
