Thanks for the video, My rule is always on a first visit book a known brand hotel like from the Marriott chain, Landmark or Crown Plaza which are common in the region. I have been burnt to many times as such I keep saving a little more for every holiday.

Hotels in Vientiane and Laos in generally are crap relative to the neighbouring countries. The prices are particularly high in Vientiane because they lack supply to satisy the demands of tourism. I’ve stayed in four star hotels for 14 USD a night in Vietnam and in some horrible shitholes for 40 usd a night in Vientiane

Agreed I found prices higher than Cambodia early in year . I had a few cities where finding reasonable hotels hard . My hotel in vang vieng was OK. Hotel in luang prabang was good . Thanks for watching

What is your experience in laos , i had 1 poor experience with the first hotel i booked but after that it was reasonably good .

Really .hotels always give bad exchange rates. And why did,nt you book through agoda or similar Web sites.

Hey Bernard yes I did book with agoda . I had a set price booked . The hotel would not accept the payment . They wanted to charge me extra 3 % for card use . Then tried to get me to pay in kip then wanted to give me their exchange rate which was poor . So a few things did not add up . Thanks for watching Mike

Unfortunately I don't think you understand the laws of the booking agencies like agoda . Some hotels in laos dont want to accept agoda booking prices . They try to get clients to pay in kip rather than accept the credit card payment . Thankyou for getting involved
