Hi MBA, I see that kingdom have bought out a new BFS CDM reel the microbeast, it looks to go up against the dark wolf ultra with even more specs than the microfly. 6.9 gram spool, drag clicker and buyers reviews weighing it at 134.9 grams. It comes in 2 versions a high speed 8.1 to 1 and a 7.1 to 1, the latter coming with 2 spools. Completely different look to this reel, different knobs different brake adjuster. At this stage it checks out as being up there with the dark wolf ultra and fishband clamber, only a performance test will see the results. Cheers

Thanks for info mate! It's really great to think about how far CDM reels have come. Before nobody will touch anything CDM.. Nowadays budget BFS are becoming dominated by it.

@@MadBearAngler Yeah for sure, like you I have no affiliation with anyone, love using all the different stuff.I currently have 3 CDM reels on the way, once I get a decent camera may even start up my own channel!

I'd say it's in the "Buy at your own risk" levels, mate. I personally own one and it serves its purpose. I've heard people buying one that weren't so lucky.

Line getting stuck between the spool and the chassis.....😒 That's a huge con.

It can be because the line I'm using was way too thin. I was using ASSO light game which was 0.18mm. The thinnest line I've ever used.
