Once you've owned a kemper and gotten used to gigging with it, there's no turning back, it's addictive and nothing competes. And you haven't even checked out the FX yet, or the Cabinets, or the free Rig Packs from their website. Got my Player last week. Some of the stock factory Profiles on the Player are made by top commercial Profiles. MB, Michael Britt. MW, Michael Wagener. GB, Guido Bungenstock. BM, Bert Meulendijk. RB, Rig Busters. Etc etc.

Yeah, I can't wait to spend some more time dialing in FX this week. I'll take a look at their free rig packs. It is such a step up from other amp pedals I've used. I loooove the Friedman tones too. I'm surprised I'd never looked into Friedman until now.

I love mine. Not going to use this for gigging, only for practice and home recording. I don’t use too many effects either, so the limits other people complain about doesn’t really bother me. Fun pedal. I’ll still use my tube amp and pedals for rehearsing and gigs.
@vandarth10 ай бұрын
Awesome! Glad you like it. I may use it some live just because my amp is so big (Mesa half stack) but sometimes I will still want to use my amp too. I am trying to figure out how to get Behringer's big Midi controller working with my Profiler Player to open up a few more possibilities live.

Okay, hear me out.... is the toneX the same, but more user friendly with the screen and half the price? I mean it has the best possible modelling "techniques" for lack of a better word, just like the kemper and sounds identical almost to the Amos it's modelling + can be easily adjusted and the same kind of effects included. Yiu can change the amp and cab to whatever combo you'd like and select the type of mic and the distance away jusy with a turn of a knob and a click. It's also the same as IK multimedia Amplitube but in a box plus some extras - and amplitube is fantastic. The modelling sounds identical - also it works like a real amount when you run pedals into it like distortion or fuzz etc. I can't decide between these 2 but I'm being pulled towards the IK multimedia Tonex amplitube amp modeller for these reasons. Does anyone disagree who knows both or either of them individually because I'd love to hear the pros and cons, please, if there is anyone who would be kind enough to let me know! Thank you in advance!
@vandarthАй бұрын
@@IXIII-IXIII I actually did spend some time looking at the ToneX and comparing before I bought the Kemper. I own Amplitube too, and I think they are all good. It would be nice to have the screen on the Kemper but I ended up picking it over the ToneX because the Kemper had a slight edge when it comes to tone, in my opinion, especially reproducing tube tone. It's probably something most listeners wouldn't notice but it bought it was worth the extra for me, especially since I record a lot. Just preference I guess. I use an iPad with the Kemper live, but lately I often set everything in rehearsal and don't need the iPad

Can we play Gilmour with it? Are there pedal effects, overdrive, delay, fuzz or equivalent downloadable profiles?
@vandarth8 ай бұрын

OK, I'm hesitating between the Kemper Profiler Player or the Hotone Ampero II Stage. Which one would you recommend? THANKS
@vandarth7 ай бұрын
I haven't played the Ampero II Stage myself. Heard good things but the Profiler Player is pretty amazing to me. I had an Ampero One for awhile but the Kemper was a significant jump in quality. Course it costs more too but it was worth it to me. I've heard the Ampero II is a significant jump from the Ampero One though so it might be worth trying

Very well done, complete analysis, thank you ! Unfortunately, like you said : no screen, no effects loop. Yes, but on the positive, fabulous amp and FX tones. You can also add an extra footswitch, f.ex.mini 2 switches, with stereo mini jack cable, so I programmed 3+2 switches for my 5 basic sounds, Clean, Crunch, Lead, Chorus and Tremolo. Like you said, the existing Rigs are already excellent, time savers. And the Rig Manager is very user friendly. Missing the screen and fair price should be USD 500. Keep rockin'

Hello Can we enter backing tracks in the Kemper Profiler Player?
@vandarth5 ай бұрын
Hello! You can play tracks through the Profiler Player via a USB audio device or Bluetooth. You just can't upload tracks to store on the Profiler Player itself
@Anthony-ru9hz5 ай бұрын
Thanks for that clear answer. It's a pity not to be able to inject backing tracks.
@vandarth5 ай бұрын
@@Anthony-ru9hz yeah it is. I've been using an iPad to manage my tones and FX via Wi-Fi, but you can actually connect the same device like an iPad or phone to it via Bluetooth while it's also connected via Wi-Fi. So I am able to run tracks and still use the Kemper rig manager app at the same time on a single iPad. So that's at least a plus, but it would be nice if it had storage too!

I would have liked to see how you might use it in action. How you set up the tones/effects and then change them in use. You briefly showed your tablet for programming but not much about how the app works in action. I am obviously not going to be bending down to touch buttons during a song :P.
@vandarth10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to add more of that next time. Without the iPad, the way I have it set up is the left and right buttons cycle through the 50 amps I loaded (they function as up and down buttons). The center turns FX on and off. I am actually trying to program a universal midi controller and expression pedals to it. If I'm successful, maybe I'll make a video showing how I did that and how it works, because that would unlock some amazing live possibilities

They were waiting watching to see what the opposition moves would be once the Profiling patent expired. What did the opposition do, introduced Capturing, a big screen, etc etc. What did Kemper then do, started modelling Amp Stacks ala Liquid Profiling which the others didn't think about and don't do. Big screens on the unit, what for when you can control everything wirelessly using your existing phone or tablet. Plus, the CPU of the Player can handle everything the big brother Kempers can do, so expect many updates both free and perhaps pay a small price to upgrade.

You are 100% right, but from Kempers point of view there is no reason to add what you have mentioned - why should they "kill" their own Toaster, Stage or Rack devices? Makes no sense for them, so they produced something for nearly half the price with some features missing. Don't forget, there are a lot of people out there who are very happy with this little unit, because they don't need the features you mentioned.
@vandarth10 ай бұрын
Yeah, that does make sense. I suppose if people really need the screen, they could just get the Profiler amp head. Which is good for Kemper

Compare a fender twin reverb with a kick ass distortion pedal. And u will throw this unit in the bin
@vandarth8 ай бұрын
I've actually been using the Kemper's Fender Deluxe Reverb profile through a PA with Bogner Wessex and Burnley distortion pedals (one for crunch, one for lead). That combo sounds unbelievable through the PA. Recording it direct doesn't quite capture how well it sounds like but I'm quite happy with that combination. I'd love to try those pedals through a real Fender amp to compare but I've been impressed with that particular Kemper amp tone for what I need. To my ear, it sounds quite close to my tube amps. There are other amp profiles on the Kemper that I found disappointing, but that Fender tone exceeded my expectations

why nobody speaks about the elephant in the room? on live gigs when the mix is dense and you play a solo...nobody hears you! modelers just disappear
@vandarth5 ай бұрын
I have experienced that with some modeling products but I haven't noticed that issue with Kemper stuff. The tones sound thicker to me. Has anybody else experienced that with Kemper stuff?
@ludvanlazarz5 ай бұрын
My experience is that you have to tweak the tones for live use, especially for your band mix and perticular db-level for the PA. What sounds good at home will not work live and vice versa. This means rehearsing with the sound engineer and tayloring your clean, rythm and lead sounds at the venue. Then save them and only use live, not at home
@joenally99534 ай бұрын
I switched over to modelers many years ago and it does take some time to understand how to use them. That being said, I go direct to house and monitor myself. You are correct you need to adjust all of your rigs in a live band situation in order to get them to sound properly. That also means you have to adjust your solar boost properly. I’ve never had a problem getting lost in the mix or hearing myself doing solos.
@0091stefan4 ай бұрын
We gig with our own sound guy, never ever had a problem, only digital modelers on stage (kemper, gt1000,) Only ever had problems when I had to rely on a sound guy from the venue, who had no idea what to do with devils work like modelers

stand out as a musician? with the same prestes that everybody else uses? the friedman ir d is a much better solution that sounds better, you can use the 200$ to buy one good pedal. the best way to go is without simulations or excuses, with a real tube amp and speakers.

Idk your age but if you still haven't found out that big part of the tone is on your than idk what else to say, there are so many factors that you will not saludos never thr same as another player with the exact same profile, you must have same speaker, same cables, same guitar, same pick up, same column knob setting, same mid and treb setting on your guitar and of course same knob settings on the profiler ans same hands...
