Oudain means two ouds. Qalam is a pencil, to make it two pencils in arabic you add the suffix ain, so it becomes Qalamain. Nice review🎉.

Thank you for this review. I bought this after Adwoa recommended this and love this. The first spray was a touch 5:39 I could tell this was fascinating to me. I let it macerate as it was summer when I got this. Now it is autumn 🍂 and I wore it. On my skin it does not smell masculine as the spice, the cardamom, sandalwood, orange blossoms dance with the vanilla and cognac. The leather is there but soft, I can smell oud but no barnyard 😂. The dry down is creamy, sweet, vanilla with some slight smokiness. A scent memory I have is of the White Christmas times as a child spent at my grandparents, the candied peel from the German Christmas cake , Stollen, the vanilla from this, cognac that my grandfather would have, the scent of the huge Christmas tree 🎄, expensive cigars of my grandfather kept in scented wooden boxes. Oranges 🍊 with cloves, nutmeg , sandalwood soap that was at their place. The expensive leather gloves, jacket in the hallways. My grandmother's handbag and all the leather bound first edition books in their extensive library and my Opa's special ink with which he wrote letters and cards with. And added to this the scents of glorious treats baking like Pfefferkuchen , a type of spiced gingerbread cookies My grandmother's beautiful French perfume was subtle but still around her. That completes the scent bubble of what Oudain reminds me of. Now I am making some new scent memories of this perfume, it is a 10 out of 10 for me.

I pulled the trigger on this one and it's just SO good, I really love it, the only issue I have is that people say this smells amazing when they whiff it in the air but up close they say it smells a bit like "cough syrup", I heard this twice already, but I love it even when smelling it on me. It also lasts long on me and it's definitely different, on me it gets quite sweet, like a candied orange, but man, woah. Thanks for the video, for real.

Back for an update, I wore this several times and ,no jokes, everyone seems to love it, I was at a party and a lot of people (which was also pretty intense since I am a bit socially awkward) said I smelled great and so unusual. Thanks again for convincing me to buy this gem, I'll buy another bottle soon, lately I bought Oud Satin from Ministry of Oud, Armaf Hunter Intense and Armaf Craze (they still have to be delivered to me), how are they in your opinion? Thanks again man, I really tend to trust your opinion about fragrances because you often deal with not the usual hype beasts but also more underrated stuff like Shaa'ri or what is its name(the one that looks a bit like a pen). Only issue is that I am getting quite addicted to this world and I am spending most of my spare money into perfumes, my girlfriend says I am insane lmao.
@PostCologne2 жыл бұрын
Glad it's working for you Carlo 👍 I did a review of hunter and have craze in a couple list videos (middle east beasts, etc...) haven't tried any ministry of ouds yet. Soon hopefully. My Girl thinks I'm insane as well :) It's an addictive and expensive hobby, so you need to check yourself, budget, and make sure bills and savings are dealt with first. I need to be mindful of this as well

Lattafa is doing an amazing job when it comes to presentation. These bottles look awesome. I bought Oudain and I do not get any oud from it (do not mind that), but get very leathery woody sweet smell. It lasts for ages on clothes. I have to say it won't be for everyone, can be challenging to wear but it is definitly very masculine and enjoyable.

Another one to add to the Lattafa list, haha. Wearing Wajood right now and it's so unusual. I like it but it's very different. Very marine, almost kelp-like and earthy. Some Middle-Eastern houses kind of run around the same profiles (and clone others a lot) but Lattafa, especially their Pride series, are really setting themselves apart, IMO.

@@PostCologne I really like it, yeah. I'm very picky when it comes to aquatics. Freshies often don't work well on my skin but Wajood gives a freshie that Middle-Eastern twist and comes across not like a soapy aquatic freshie but more like wet mud, algae and moss. Definitely unique but I dig it!

In one of your reviews your asked for other Lattafas. Here is one (Ard Al Zaafaran): Fakhar Al Oud. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the fragrance very much. Comes in a special box and a quite beautiful simple bottle. It has been discontinued, but you can still find it. Price 25-35 euros. 🙂

Good evening, I really realize the accuracy of your words and your descriptions, I received "Oudain" this morning, I wore it all day and it's exactly what you described. Sweet and sweet tangerine is exactly what I felt. I also received "Lattafa Musamam" and "Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan" so needless to say I can't wait to wear them if your description is so accurate. Thank you for introducing me to "Lattafa" perfumes, I save money and I wear superb original perfumes. I look forward to your next videos. @tiamurrell9638 ай бұрын
I have both and for me it is Oudain as it is richer, creamier and more of a beast mode scent. I know that it seems as if Oudain is a masculine leaning scent but on my skin it turns much more feminine and smells very different on my husband than on my skin. I love Ameer Al Oud Intense but that is such a simple composition compared to Oudain, Oudain is so much more complex but not as safe blind buy, I think it is a polarising perfume. I was overwhelmed when I first smelled it, it reminded me of Christmas time with my grandparents, all the treats there, the smoke of candles, leather bound books, some expensive cigars in the timber boxes , vanilla and spice cookies, and so much more. It was summer here when I got this in February so I sprayed about 10 or so sprays and let it macerate until recently as it is a autumn winter scent. It now dances and sparkles on my skin whereas before it was very heavy and more inky. Its dry down is incredible, on my skin it looses any inky notes and is much sweeter and has more sandalwood , orange blossoms, sweet spices than on my husband but does smell incredible on his skin. It is such a sensual perfume. Hope this helps.

hiii I am a huge fan of your videos. I would like your opinion on a laeyring that I want to make with qaed by lattafa that I find not sweet enough so I wanted to layer it with another sweet flavor I'm thinking of ameer al oud by lattafa or oudain by lattafa, but I don't know not who to choose between the two to mix well. That's why I'm asking for your opinion. thanks and good luck .

Thanks Polska, I don't layer fragrances so I might not have the best answer. Are you referring to qaed al fursan or qaaed? If qaaed I think ameer al oud would layer best based on the overlaps with the oud notes. But I've never tried so can't be certain

@@polska5170Qaa’ed layers beautifully with Ameer Al Oud Intense. Majd Al Sultan also layers wonderfully with Ameer Al Oud Intense. I have the fragrance and i can tell you i get mostly sweet tonka beany , vanilla orange type of scent . If we are talking about leather notes its nothing like Ombre Leather by Tom Ford or Gucci Guilty Absolute. I consider those to be leathery animalic scents . Oudain is , in my opinion ,in the opposite direction . Now that i read the comments of ppl saying there's mostly animalics , i focused on searching for the leather and i found that the combination of cedar and cumin and ambergris gives off this leather impression .
