I don’t understand so many peoples comments on the doula being in the way and censoring lol we don’t need to see the full image of you and baby coming out, the point was to hear your warrior cries and get an idea that all of it is acceptable and beautiful. I needed this. Thank you so much and I’m so glad you had such hands on helpers around you ❤️

No blood on baby, means no tearing to mum; and APGAR score could be worked from baby's condition at birth, at 1 minute and 3 minutes, supporting the safety of Doula's work, so Doulas get more respect from the medical profession.

My due date is Sunday and I’m having an at home water birth too! I can’t watch birth videos without crying I’m so excited to have my baby😭 very overwhelmed but I know I can do it, as a first time mom being able to see it first hand means the world to me so thank you for this video🥲❤️

Im due next month and after a rough induction with my firstborn, am planning my first homebirth. I cant wait to be in the comfort of my own home for labour ❤ Thanks for doing these videos, it takes me back to all the feelings and power of the first time. I really felt the urge to make noise and that loss of control near the end but you are right, its normal!

Thank you for sharing the after birth part where you birth the placenta and everything else because I have been waiting to see that part and it’s rarely shown. And also leaving the talking in was great to get an idea of what the midwives say etc instead of putting music over that

Yes!! The placenta & postpartum portion is always left out, but is just as important - glad you could enjoy it

I really appreciated that you shared audio through getting out of the pool. I’m prepping for my first baby to come into the world at home and my husband commented “Wow this is the first time I’ve seen and heard the aftermath. I wish I could have that more” and I totally agree. I knew about the placenta delivery but the getting out and everything after that I feel like I know nothing.

Yes!! Once the baby arrives it's always the focus (understandably) but it's so valuable to see the entire process play out. I'm happy you found it insightful, sending lots of good birthing energy your way! 🤍

I had an awful induction leading to emergency c/section with my first, a very traumatic VBAC with forceps, episiotomy, 2.2 lt blood loss, blood transfusions, they made me into one big hole and I’ve needed reconstructive surgeries to put me back together, truly the worst vbac you could imagine but now I’m pregnant with my third baby and I want to do it at home. The people around me want me to have a planned c/section but I want to have my baby in the safety and comfort of my home away from all those interventions that cause the downward spiral, im struggling to get my people on broad with my wishes. I know how circumstances are different but this shows how real birth is and it’s beautiful, women and babies are forged through fire. Wonderful job mama! Congratulations, truly.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Such an intimate experience in your life and you did beautifully. As a newbie training Doula I just want to say this helped me in so many ways. I appreciate the footage when you're between contractions as well to be able to share this with expecting birthers to know it's not just one long contraction and there are moments of relief! Beautiful video.

I'm about 3 & 1/2 months along. I've seen many birthing videos, but I got so emotional with your birth. I felt so connected, I saw more of the REAL raw natural birth & your breathing technics. I feel like I learned more. Thank you so much for sharing, I truly admire & appreciate it. I feel more ready for my second baby birth experience.

This is so important for moms to know. As a doula and a labor and delivery nurse these are some of the things are used to tell moms… When people are needing more strength such as lifting barbells they will make a very guttural noise and it actually increases their strength, so go ahead and make noise it will increase your strength. Or if they were doing a long drawn out noise, it always sounded like a Georgian chant to me and I would tell them they have entered into the sacred music/song of birth. During labor and delivery classes, I would have them try out making high noises versus low noises and see what impact it had on their muscle tone down below. Higher tones have a tendency to tighten muscles, so I would remind them to make lowered noises if possible during birth.

Doulas can reduce your fear of birth, by enabling you to achieve the 10cm diameter opening for baby prior to birth, shortening birth, avoiding episiotomy totally and reducing the risk of tearing by Aniball, or perineal massage using the 4 fingers of both hands pulling sideways, so help keep antibiotics working into the future for your baby.

While they’re very professional I think I’d be getting really annoyed with that midwife. She’s way too hands-on and in the way. There’s no need to be checking that much. I’d be screaming for some space lol. You did amazing. This has inspired me for my first home birth in a few weeks. Unfortunately I don’t have a midwife attending 😓
@CarlyWatson2 жыл бұрын
She was more hands on because of how quickly I progressed (3 cm to delivered in 1 hr) & they couldn't find heart tone during delivery. Not the exact plan we had, but it made me feel comforted
