If your renting your car through Turo be aware there is no customer service or help. I have two cars rented out now and they shut our account down for no reason. After a week of phone calls they have said they would fix the account, send an email, get it escalated to no avail. So now I have my cars out and no way to get them back! They do not car my cars are gone. Do not, do not work with them. They do not care. My cars are gone. I'll have to get legal involved now.

Actual cash value is terrible! Wish they replace the unrecoverable vehicle with replacement cost instead. Also, I’ve spoken with two hosts and their experience with Turo when their cars were stolen was horrific! Their stories gave me the impression that Turo isn’t much help at all with recovering your vehicle. Turo asking the host, after the car has missed its return date by over a day, or two, to just wait and not to file a police report, among other things.

It's not rare. We''ve just recovered our 2022 Mazda CX-5 from being stolen with ~10k damages. The car has 2 trackers, but police just doesn't care. They waited ~24 hours before took the car while it was parked. NYC area.

If the renter has a iPhone they will get a notification that an AirTag is nearby.

Did no work, my son put it in his car and the car was stolen. The renters found the airtag and put it in other car. The police found the air tag very close to Mexico but it wasn't the car.😮

Do they typically just pay out off of KBB costs? For older cars that people purchased outright for the platform, the KBB could be half or less than current going price of the vehicle... :P

I’m not sure what valuation took they use but typically their estimates for the actual cash value of the car is correct.

KBB is not reliable source, generally insurance use what a simpler spec and milage one would cost at a dealer
