WADE FISHING the Texas City Dike for SPECKLED TROUT! (Catch and Cook)

Went wade fishing at the Texas City Dike recently for some speckled trout. It was a good quick morning fishing trip, we battled terrible conditions but still ended up with a few fish for dinner. Stay tuned for the catch and cook part of the video! Thanks

Only a damn fool eats refinery fish. DO NOT EVER EAT ANY FISH FROM OUT OF WATER FROM OUT OF BAYTOWN DOWN TO GALVESTON. Exxon’s Baytown refinery is the nation’s highest-volume water polluter of total dissolved solids, which include chloride and sulfates. Seven of the nation’s 10 worst polluters of total dissolved solids operate along the Texas coast. Half of the nation’s chemical production occurs within the Galveston watershed, which has led to multiple chemical and petroleum spills in the Bay within the last decade. And because many municipalities don’t safely dispose of pesticides, acids, paints, and solvents, they just say F ck it and dump it into the bay as well. FOUR TRILLION F CKING GALLONS OF WASTEWATER flow into Galveston Bay each year from sewers, industrial facilities and roads. The refineries are major sources of water pollution that largely escape public notice and accountability because it's alot of money and alot of high- paying jobs.

Man, are you bringing back memories of all the wade fishing I used to do on Galveston and where you are (we'd hit mosquito island before the others would follow us out) from 89- 07. Used to be dangerous too, if you didn't know what you were doing. I remember having to save TWO guys who got out too deep, didn't remember how they got to their spot, and neither knew how to swim. You've got a subscriber in me!

Excellent video. As an older outta shape gentleman getting down to the end of Surfside jetties to fight those monsters just ain't my thing. I'm down with wading though. What was the water temp like? I don't have a set of waders I just carry an extra set of dry clothes. With that wind blowing it might be a just a bit to cold for me yet but I'm so ready to catch some specks! Nice to see them being caught. Nice job on all you guys catching those jetty monsters though. Big specks out there too! Oh and your crawfish cream sauce looked excellent. You and Mark do excellent catch and cook videos.

When the surf plays down and is green to the beach is the best old man fishing. Just park on the beach and walk to the second bar or sometimes they're in the first gut and you can cast from the beach.

Lots of places there but believe he's a just a little ways down when you get on the dike to the left.

Where you pay to enter the dike (weekends) go to the left, that's where he is in the video, go a little further to mosquito Island where you can see a shell road on the left, fish on your left side to the end of it where you can fish everywhere

When the hook came out at 14 were you trying to set the hook? I rarely use circle hooks believe youre not supposed to set them and instead let the fish just run with em. I could be completely way off though?

My husbands on a diet. We too also have leftover crawfish from a boil.. what would you say I can substitute the heavy cream with? … maybe 0% yogurt with water or skim milk?

They were wading along the rocks at the bottom of the embankment along Skyline Rd. Probably pretty close to the Texas city dike.

Why are you not keeping the skin on? It is very tasty from a trout. Most high end restaurants will cook the trout whole, you guys are waisting so much good fish meat with the American filet method

This is not the same as a freshwater trout that you are served in most restaurants, it’s a sea trout and the scales are much bigger.
