Thanks for the review, and the discount. I've recently had enough with muscle knots and pain in my left shoulder and trap area and my lacrosse ball only goes so far. I've done a lot of research and considering cost and performance, I think the Ekrin Bantam will be a good starter massage gun. If I want to upgrade, I'll do it later based on the needs I've learned from the Bantam.

Hey bub good review but it seems you have some kinda acoustic isolation going on tuning out the sound of the bantam during the sound check. Heads up. Seems like some of them make a high pitch whine and some don't? Another reviewer "Hypervolt GO vs Ekrin Bantam: A mini massage gun comparison" has a sound test and it doesn't seem to be making this high pitched sound. Wondering if I should return mine. Cheers.

They HAVE resolved the soft head to a harder silicone that does not collapse. This review is 2 years old.

Came here to say the same. The ball head is stiff. There's an area in the center about the size of a dime which is soft and then it gets progressively more firm as you move out to the edge. You cannot collapse it like you can in the video. Not sure how they did it precisely but you can feel that there's some internal structure in there. I do wish that the flat attachment was smooth plastic or metal. Also I believe it's probably the strongest mini-gun on the market (much stronger than the Theragun Mini for stall force). I'm not sure if that's a production or preproduction model but... I'm a cyclist with massive quads which are pretty hard to dig into. Even on the lowest setting (stall force is progressive) will the flat attachment on, I can't stall it out before it become physically painful. That's saying a lot because the darling of many testers, the Achedaway Pro, I could *easily* stall pushing it into my quads. I did your same test (pillow on the scaled test with a flat attachment) and it would stall out at 25 lbs. That said... for the quads I personally find that higher amplitude is desirable. Not sure if maybe it's 12 mm B37s older sibling would do the trick or if I really need to go to the 15 to 16mm range. As to whether or not it does anything... I've done some research (actual literature review of peer-reviewed randomized controlled trials) and I could find no consensus in the form of a meta analysis or systematic review indicative of community consensus on the efficacy of these devices. What is clear is that they do not (contrary to manufacturer claims) "flush out lactic acid." Tests have been done ad-nauseum which confirm that simply *waiting* an hour is all that's needed to return blood lactate levels to pre-workout baselines. Percussion massagers have no effect on that. There is also no evidence which supports that they break down knots in the muscle fascia. If you want to do that, hop on a foam roller (there is evidence for foam rolling). What I can say anecdotally is that they temporarily feel good right after a ride. I suspect this is because the vibrational sensation overwhelms other sensory input, and having a high stall force allows you to massage the muscle (just like you would with your hands).

Cool small massager. But the accessories look like crap.

The air cushion head is a little weak. Others are great and top notch actually
