I used to go to this place every weekend with my mom n dad.. My childhood memories are here.. Feeling so nostalgic.. You helped me remember those days.. Thanks Sambhavana.. I was always a part of buddhism.. Tab yaha ye rickshaw ni chalte the.. We use to walk n go for 3 kms..n then my dad got transferred to other city and I never went back der.. Just memories.. You were visiting the Buddha's birth place and I am little disappointed that you were not prepared as I thought you would be. It might've looked like a picnic or Disney Land for people who are not Buddhist, but for people from the mountain regions and Buddhists, this is one of the most sacred places for them. FYI, the people who were chantting looked like from Cambodia, Vietnam, or Thailand. Nepal is one of those countries, where you will get to see people from all over the world. Some travel for expedition (Europeans and Americans), some visit for religious/philosophical reasons (Taiwanese, Chinese, Srilankans, Japanese, Koreans and westerners or scholars), and some (adventurers/travellers) visit to to experience the unique (Himalayan) cultures and history of Nepal. I am excited to watch the Part 2 of Lumbini Vlog. BTW, the famouse Bodhi tree doesn't exit anymore. It has been sold by Nepalese government to Japan more than a decade ago.
