I was told recently to make sure your punched holes in the feeder lid are actually facing outward not inward (if inward, the bees can cut their tongues???)...any truth to this?

We copy how kelly beekeeping and dadant sells them. Punched inward. I have no idea if they cut their tongue or not. I'm not sure how you'd be able to tell except for they'd stop using the feeder. Ours don't stop using the feeders until the flow is on. I'll do some research and if I come up with something else I'll be sure to post about it.

You could have purchased a pneumatic staple gun from Harbor Freight for about $25.00 and banged out those 6 frames in the time it took you to drive 1 nail with your Hitachi nail driver?? 🤔

How to get Bee queen not to run away after taking out the honey

As long as you don’t take too much and she’s not on any of the frames you pull, you should be fine. Typically the queen won’t be on any honey frames anyway.
