Amazing tutorial. I was trying to learn this before and got the basic concept but you went much more in depth and I found that it was actually quite easy to get multiple rotations before I even finished the video!

It’s tricky dude, just play around with it whilst you watch tv and stuff , practise in background. Then check in on this video every few days to see if anything clicks. This video has been the best explanation I’ve found for sure but it’s just takes time like any trick. It’s physically simple but I found it really complicated to understand the physics around it. Good luck

Ayy, I’m finally getting it to be pretty good. The scoop snap was the secret. It’s the oddest thing when you can’t do something and then you finally get it and it just works now like it’s really some new ability unlocked now.

Just found your side. I'm so new to this and since I live in Norway where live blades are not legal, I didn't really care to much. But now I have found 2 VERY good Trainers, I think. The "Nabalis - The Vulp" by Will Hirsch and yesterday I got an even better one from BBbarfly, the "BB SuperFly TR Series". I also got 2 live blades from Maxeace. The Covenant 2.0 & (Midnight Cat) Petrel Channel w/(ball)Bearings(since I can't adjust bushings if needed). Both came with Training blades, so the live blades I got sent after, one by one. I truly like the Petrel, and I do like the ballbearings that's on it, but I wouldn't mind try one that has perfect adjusted bushins. Love larger, long Balisongs, so I would really like to try one with an Italian Stiletto Blade that's half top sharp(so your fingers are safe on the "safety handle), pointy and thin blade to make it lighter, maybe thin fullers on both sides. And 5 inch and up to almost 6 inch blade and the right/propper handle for weight, grip and all. It might sound crazy, and I'm not sure it would be a good flipper, a Balisong to play and do a lot of tricks with, but I think with a lot of practice and the right setup it would be amazing. It should look like those LARGE Italian Switchblades from the 50's. Think about handling something like that and then master it, that would be an amazing feeling. First of all, I love the old school Switchblades, second, I love Balisongs, but these two together and you have the one I'm thinking of.😊. Sorry, I just falled into one of my Balisong dreams that I've thought a long time about, but as you know, I'm new, so I don't know how this would work out. Anyway, I'm not patient, so this is something I will learn starting out with learning tricks. I just do the most important "cornerstones" tricks first, so they sit and in the end will be remembered by my muscles and mind. So I now do different opening styles, rollings around the finger and thumb, both blade and handles (360's). Is there any sides that showes just the most regular and important starting "tricks" and little by little shows more tricks until middle difficult to then advanced. And last, starting to do multiple tricks like 3 and up, from easy, middle and advanced? And also shows it in slow motions? I found some video's yesterday that did some of it, but can't remember. I'll be sure to check my logg. Also, love your way of teaching. I haven't checked out your site yet, but I hope you have the training videos on their own list, if not, I will anyway see them all.😊. I suffer from anxiety and depression,so to put my mind on learning to do tricks with Balisongs, get my thoughts to rest and focus on something good. This gives so much,,,balance, dexterity, focus, meditation, relaxation, something you can do every day(I love longboard and cruising, but since I live in north Norway, there's not much time sadly). I was into Fidget Spinners, but this is 100 times more useful and funn. So, byby to all of my 100'ds of spinners. I've used 1000's of dollars collecting spinners, it's crazy, it became mania, same with Custom & High End knives and swords + tomahawks. It's a sickness. What the f... shall I use them for? I'm not rich at all, so I will sell them and use money on things that can be used, and I'm so glad that there's super high end Balisong Trainers now by Brands, so you don't need to buy Fully Customs. There's so many good custom makers out there, that it's hard to choose the one ore 2-3+4 to buy in your lifetime. For me $1000-$3000 is so much money I can't just put on a Custom Balisong. I sure hope I at least can get 1, and I have a thing for FioreKnives Balisongs, a lot. So much that I bought his first Trainer, the aluminium black handles with D2 blade. It's so light, but it's sure a piece of art. Wish I had one in Titanium and one of his newest liveblades. I guess if you find someone you like, you stick to that guy, but can you afford, of course try others as well. I don't know who is the 5 top custom makers out there, but would like to hear your opinion on this matter. I hope one day you have time to read this and let me know who your favorite Custom Makers is and High End Brands. Also what's your favorite Balisong live blade and trainer blade is, as many you like. I like both silent and those who has a "cling" to them😊. I know when you're good and have trained with Balisongs for years, tried different kinds and found your own style, the Balisongs you like most is different from others who are in same class as you. But I guess there's some names that comes up again and again, both customs and brands. I would love the Microtech Tachyon lll Trainer and the Benchmade 87 (the 87 looks and feels dangerous, and might be, but they who have mastered it, says it's one of the best Balisongs there is). I just love both brands, and I love the look of both, so if I could choose and afford, I would get them both and the Microtech Tachyon lll with live blade of course, but I gladly take the trainer so I can walk the streets, using it.❤ Well, I said enough or to much, so thankyou for listening if you came this far, and hope you keep loading up learning videos for us who are new and need this to make our days tolerable. Peace bro, best wishes, Thomas Aasen, 9300 Finnsnes, Norway🤝🙏👍

Thanks for the long comment brother! Happy to hear you been enjoying the hobby. A Balisong channel called Big Flips makes content that has beginner all the way to advanced tutorials if it helps. Also happy to hear this hobby helps with your anxiety! Always good to find something that can calm the mind. As far as all time great Balisongs you HAVE to get a Krake Raken from Squid Industries. It’s a staple. Cheers brother and good luck in the hobby!

My handle won’t rotate correctly. does my hands being somewhat dry have smtg to do with it? I think it’s because the bali is slipping on my hand rather than rolling on it

I think I’ve finally got it down after a few weeks of playing around (I’m a slow learner). I’ve got all the basics down now (helix , 8ball, blender , Chaplins & now the basic fans). Next I’ll learn the more advanced fans? What did you learn first in more difficult tricks my brother ?

Nah a few weeks is average man that’s good! I would say the first of the harder tricks in would learn if I was you would be some type of aerial. Maybe a scissor once you get the main ones down. 😎
