Your such a kind man a truly gentle soul. You have been my teacher since a month ago I started by ordering a RG Hardie regular chanter. I love this chanter. Thank you for all you do for learning pipers out there. Bless you!

I'm a brand new piper, and I lost my instructor due to a course ending in October last year. Only got to the chanter and light stamina building on the pipes. This will definitely help in the meantime!

That is great to here you are sticking at the pipes Ivan! Glad you found this video. Keep on, piping on :)

Recently transitioned to pipes earlier in the year and due to illness I’ve not been able to see my instructor. Your video has made me realise a fault of mine, which is not squeezing the bag hard enough or long enough. Too reliant on breath.

A very common tendency for beginner pipers! Glad this video helped you Mark. Good luck building confidence in your arm. Hope you are feeling well enough to get back to you instructer. I do have some online services, if you are interested you can check out my website: www.getbagpipeready.com

I can't wait to try this exercise. I get my pipes in February! In the meantime, I keep learning and playing the practice chanter. Great video!

Oh Brian, new pipes are exciting!!! Thanks for watching :) Keep at the practice chanter. Time well spent, even if it doesn't feel like it in the moment haha. You've got this!

You are right!...very important coordination between brain, mouth and arms!... At present I can stay trainning for at least 5 to 7 minutes with no stop at all( even I use to do it mostly of days, only playing notes..no any tune , just High A, C, B, LowA...D, F...etc)

That’s great advice Pedro! Good work and thanks for tuning in 😀

Love your videos man. Could you do one about strike ins for rookies?
@GetBagpipeReady3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Dan! Strike ins are a Great idea! Is there anything you have trouble with in particular with them right now??

@@GetBagpipeReady I’m new to this so forgive me if this is stupid but when I squeeze the bag I can get the drones to sound but when I start to blow the sound drops off until I can get enough air back in it. Sounds off from watching strike ins on KZbin. I guess my timing is wrong…maybe I’m not hitting the bag in the right spot. Hard to find the right balance because I try to compensate by squeezing or blowing too hard and then I squeak.

This can be a big challenge! Arm and breath coordination takes a while for sure. Don’t worry about playing a tune, just play a steady low a 👌

This was helpful because I've been doing more blowing than squeezing and the lips get fatigued easily that way. I still don't know how full is full when filling the bag with air. Should the bag be filled to maximum capacity? That seems to fatigue the lips faster than just leaving the bag at 95% capacity or so and squeezing more.

Glad this was helpful! The bag will always be under the same pressure but not filled to 100% volume all the time. Hope that makes sence. For more Beginner Bagpiping videos, feel free to check out my website. Happy piping! www.getbagpipeready.com/

I’m really struggling to blow so much air! I’m going to work on my arm, but I feel like the air depletes so fast! Like I’m going to hyperventilate!
@GetBagpipeReady Жыл бұрын
You can do it, Kate! Try using a cork in the chanter stock and just blow the drones. Here's a video demo: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWqtnaNuosikp6c

Are you sure no air is escaping where it shouldn't. If air is leaking where it shouldn't, it will deplete faster.

I use earplugs only if I am practicing indoors.
