This is Nicki's 3rd lesson.
The goals of more mature riders a slightly different than that of younger riders.
As an instructor I focus on building strength each lesson and helping the Rider feel more balanced and in control of the horse.
Riding requires muscle memory to be build and it is not the same as sitting in a chair. We work on finding the balance and understanding how to use both leg and hand commands. It doesn't happen over night and takes time and patience.

OMG...that makes so much sense! If we expect horses to be fit and prepared for riding, why should we as riders not also be prepared?! Thanks so much! I am learning so much that, unfortunately, the trainers I had in the past never even addressed or considered!

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, you have to be for to ride, totally different from other activities. Building muscle memory is important. Here's another exercise using a barrel . kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWevnn-opZeNocksi=F5t7617rZ1v7divg
