I'm late to the party as usual. Picked this up as my latest war game and found this video very helpful for getting my Bolton list off the ground. Highlighting effective use of the Bastard's Girls was great for putting them to better use. Solid, helpful video.

Greetings from Germany, Because of you Sir, I bought the Stark-Lannister Starter with Stark and Neutral Heroes ;) I want to thank you, I like your channel very much. It is informative, especially your ASOIAF videos. I linked your channel with our club members and will try to convince the members to give this game a chance. Still I have some questions for you: 1) I want to field a Bolton army. Do you have any info about a starterset for the Boltons? 2) What about the kickstarter only models? Is there any chance, that they will be released for the non-pledgers? 3) Do you think, that the system is tournament compatible regarding balancing? And which gamesize will be meta? Thanks for watching! 1) Currently, there is no starter set for the Neutral Faction. Currently, they are a really fun faction to play - but they will benefit tremendously from when the Bolton Blackguard are released. If you are struggling against the other houses with your Boltons, you need to recognize that you are still waiting on a core unit for your faction. 2) The Kickstarter only models will be released but in future releases. The community was expecting them to be in the Hero box 2 set, but those sets have been previewed and it's all new stuff! So, now we are thinking they will be in the next set. 3) The system is tournament compatible. I've played in a handful, some good and some bad. With the 2 list format they are now pushing, as well as the new scenarios (Dance with Dragons, for example), it is very tournament balanced.

Hello Chase, Thank you very much for answering my questions. Tomorrow evening I finally have my very first game with a club colleuge, who bought the Stark-Lannister Starter too. Even better: 2-3 other club-members who are curious and join our game :) I bought the box Neutral Heroes 1 too. We will play 30 pts. This will be my very first list: NCU: Roose Bolton (Commander) Cersei Lannister Troops: Mountains Men + Gŕegor Clegane OR Ramsey Bolton Lannister Guardsmen + Captain Lannister Guardsmen + Captain Bolton Cutthroats

To be honest I think Roose Commander double flayed men is the best build until we get the Blackguard and other options.

True, although Flayed men stock is starting to go down with the addition of new anti-armor units

On the Table Gaming indeed we need to be a bit more careful now! Again another reason I love Roose NCU for calculated cruelty. Turning off pyromancer or great axes abilities (giants when they come out) can be game winning. Ramsey has brilliant killing cards but Roose just gives that control element that I love. At recent tournament using the two list rule. I won both games with Roose NCU and lost the one time I had Ramsey. Unfortunately hadn’t played against Mr Snow before and quickly learnt you need to be able to force them to discard his power cards.

So is a dreadfort captain a good stand in for Bron since you can purchase him unless you backed the Kickstarter?

Against a seasoned opponent, Bron may not get as much mileage. Dreadfort captains are a great addition to any army. Test it out and let me know how it goes. The bastards girls fell out of favor and are only now coming back into style with the new dance for dragons scenario and Nights Watch and Free Folk factions.

The Commander is Ramsey Snow - The Bastard of Bolton, one of my favorite Neutral Commanders! You may have accidentally selected him as an attachment instead of commander.
