Anyone thinking of getting this bike? I highly recommend it! It's a great beginner bike and has enough power to keep you entertained! I absolutely love the design and think anyone can really get a blast from riding this bike! Thanks for watching!

I bought a 2020 a couple weeks ago and I love it! The R3 and this bike are two of the best lower CC bikes you can buy. It's got plenty of power for me and feels great. Also the clutch thing wasn't an issue for me and it was easy to get used to.
@CoffeeBrakes4 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the purchase! I couldn't agree more. As a first bike, you will learn a lot and be very confident on the road. If you can get used to this clutch, other bikes will be easier to get used to. Anyway, ride safe bro and rubber side down.✌

Great review. Heard in other reviewer that Ninja 400 feels vibes on handlebar, foot pegs during high revs where R3 exeptionally smooth in all rev range. could you tell us about vibration in this engine
@CoffeeBrakes4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t really experience much vibration on the Ninja. For sure on the R3, I never had vibration on the handlebars. I think it’s because of the bigger engine and has to do with the ninja 400 has a small frame. If the handlebars keep vibrating and gets uncomfortable, you can buy new bar ends as a solution.

So I’ve been in between this and the 650 as a beginner bike, I was leaning more towards the 650 but insurance cost is almost $600 a month for me meanwhile the 400 is only $138 a month lol do you think I’d be pleased with the 400 for about a year atleast? I’m clearing up some debt before I choose to pay a premium for the 650
@khronin2 жыл бұрын
Anything over 400 is overkill unless you plan on riding with the bulletbike crowd which can get you in trouble.I have ridden an older gs 500--honda 750 interceptor and a 250 ninja and I would say if the 250 ninja had more power it would be perfect--the power of the gs 500.750 was just overkill and just put you into dangerous riding speeds--plus being modern this has the performance stats of a dodge 392 up to 120 which is plenty of power i you think about it--plus weight--lower weight bikes are much easier to maneauver and you get way less riding fatigue.

So I’ve never ridden a bike or anything I hope I can soon but anyways, why do you have to rev match?
@CoffeeBrakes4 жыл бұрын
Rev matching is necessary because when you downshift on a motorcycle your rpms goes up and you need to match it by reving. If you don't the engine will over-work itself and jerk forward the bike. Most bikes now have a slipper clutch such as the Ninja 400 to assist you in engine braking without having to rev-match. You'll get the hang of it once you start riding. Good luck on the journey!

After the first couple minutes of jibber jabber, the review part was actually really good. Gave a good sense of in town riding and faster speeds. Can you tell us about the engine braking abilities of the Ninja? The R3 is very strong
@CoffeeBrakes4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Didn't mean to take long at the intro! Most definitely this bike can ride comfortably in town and on a highway. So the Ninja 400 has a safety feature that many other bikes do which is called a "slipper clutch". When you are approaching a stop at a high speed, you use the engine to cut off power while the motorcycle is in motion to slow down your bike. (downshifting while rev-matching) other than using the brakes. The slipper clutch helps you engine brake without rev matching by taking pressure off the rear wheel. I hope that makes sense. And yes, I love the R3! Still have mine.

What about the 650 for beginners, if you want more power, have you rode that yet?
@CoffeeBrakes3 жыл бұрын
650 is another great beginner friendly bike. I have not been on one but I do know that they are comparable to adventure bikes. The engine is still a parallel twin but squeezes a bit more horsepower than the 400. Personally, I think the 400 is a great to start if you want to segway into a zx6r but absolutely nothing wrong with the 650, just a bigger price tag.
@justincrayton3243 жыл бұрын
Honesty I wouldn’t buy the 650... both bikes are damn near identical (except the 650 sits higher, is like a second faster in acceleration, and the handle bars are higher)... both have the same top end speed (some cases the 400 has out done the 650) but u won’t go wrong with the 400.... I feel like kawi should of made the 650 much more faster

R3 or ninja 400...because i will buy my first motorcycle...and i dont know..
@CoffeeBrakes4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I’m biased for the R3 since I own one. But you can see it in two perspectives, if you plan on keeping the bike and commuting day by day, the ninja has that extra bit of cc’s for that little bit of extra strength. The R3 is a bullet proof bike, not the best bike but a solid 321cc bike. If you plan on upgrading and not keeping the bike, get an R3, because they are a lot cheaper used and you can easily sell the bike for a bigger one. I hope this helps!
@justincrayton3243 жыл бұрын
Just depends on what u want.... the ninja 400 is super underrated.... bike can top out a 130mph.... it’s cheap and it’s faster than the R3 and cbr500

Would this blow the Ninja 650 out the water?
@CoffeeBrakes3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say it would blow it out of the waters. It depends on what you want the bike to do. Both are great commuter bikes. Same engine but the 650 puts out a bit more. The 400 is great if you want to lead up to a 600 (zx6r). For a little bit more money you can get the 650 but honestly, the 400 is better imo. Price and performance wise.
@GeorgeLista3 жыл бұрын
@@CoffeeBrakes fantastic feedback thank you, just want to explore a little more on the answer if that’s ok? So, knowing the profiles of the bike... say you have a responsible rider that likes short in-town riding and long rides out for weekend adventures... likes to be able to get high speed but not a racer, and not constantly ringing out the throttle.... considering this imaginary rider (let’s call him George😉)... play out two scenarios. He buys the 400. What does he regret about it that the 650 would give him. Parallel universe, he buys the 650. Same question, what does he regret about the 650 that the 400 would have given him. I’ll write the story ending 😉
