I have to count this at the begining of every solve and it takes a lot of time. How do you do it so fast? Is it just with practice that you know if you memorised every piece ? Due to the nature of the cube, you can never have 1 corner twisted - this means that if you remember the right letters for the other corners to be oriented, the buffer will be oriented too

@koral00920
@koral00920 9 ай бұрын
I'm the 3rd example you explained, why didn't you note anything when the buffer was flipped? I tried to do it myself before watching your explanation and I still noted the letter M (as the red sticker would go from B to M and then back). Also in the last cycle I noted KUK while you skipped that last K and I wonder why? I guess it's not so important as long as you know where a cycle starts/ends and in this case it's kind of intuitive. But I was just wondering though ;) Anyways, your tutorial is great and very easy to understand. There are some others on KZbin but yours is the first that I can truly keep up with. Thank you!
@MizhiBirb
@MizhiBirb 7 ай бұрын
Because if you do a flipped edge, you're going back to the same piece, not the same sticker. if it hits the same piece it counts as a cycle break. Sometimes it's on the same sticker, sometimes it's not.

@swiftcubing
@swiftcubing 7 ай бұрын
That's awesome! There are a couple of things that you can do to improve that I hope to make future videos covering, but for now here's a quick run down. You can learn M2, which is a faster method for solving the edges of the cube. And also, you can review the memorisation less and less times, which will speed up your memorisation. You can do this gradually. Further from that, there are more advanced methods such as 3-style but for now learning M2 and reviewing your memo less should help you get much faster

When you are starting out, it can be good to put your fingers on pieces that you've been to so you can tell which ones you haven't yet. As you get faster, you'll just gain sort of more of an intuition and you won't need to use your fingers.

The ones you haven't solved yet, If you reach the buffer by going through a memorisation, then just look to any unsolved piece. And then remember the letter of the piece thats unsolved, thats the beginning of your new cycle.

@JohnLark-k9y
@JohnLark-k9y Ай бұрын
@@TheCubicWizard Try to map out the edges that are getting moved with your fingers or mentally, think of it like a string links each edge together. If you are unsure if you are finished, you can check each layer of the cube to see if you have memorised the pieces. if you want to know quickly, check if the you have 12 or 13 letters memorised for edges or 8-9 for corners, it can be lower if there is a piece solved already, Also check the cycles, as you get better you will be able to see flipped pieces and also 2 flips (2 cycles), you will know if you have solved them.

How do you know which pieces are untraced?
@swiftcubing
@swiftcubing 10 ай бұрын
At the start, it can help to put your fingers on each of the pieces you trace to, but as you get faster you'll over time just get a feeling for what you've been to and what you haven't

It's a bit complicated at first, I keep going wrong. 😢 I will be practicing hard because my dream is to solve a rubik's cube blindfolded once although I am still a nine years old child.

No not quite, but close! After the IG, the piece that is at G should go to H, not Q. But then the piece that is at H should go to Q. So perhaps you forgot to memorise H and then just moved on. But overall with your cycle break choices it would be: KN DP AW FV IG HQ But you were very close! Good job
