Thanks for your tutorial. I wonder if the Google Drive app takes space on a hard disk on the computer. For example, I have a 160 GB folder on Google Drive. Is 160 GB transfer to the hard disk as soon as I activated the app on the computer? Thanks again!

The way I'd like to use the Google Drive Sync feature is as follows: I use dedicated story telling software. I write primarily on my Mac desktop. When I travel, I use my laptop. When I open my dedicated story telling software on the laptop away from home, can I just go to my Google Drive, find my sync folder (where I've synced all my story telling software files), find the file I'm working on, and get to work, picking up where I left off at home? And when I return home and to my desktop, can I just go to my Google Drive, find my sync folder and continue? Thank you!

Liked your tutorial on backup & sync. Would you offer me some additional information concerning security. If you add the files to folders in Mac Finder, are they just always open, or can they be protected by signing out of Google Drive. From what I have read online about Google Sheets, is that the files cannot be password protected.

Tks for the guide. I still have a doubt. Is there a way that I can see all the files in my computer and choose the ones I want to keep just at the cloud or cloud and computer? In One Drive we can do this just right clicking the file. Can I do something like there or if the file is just on clou, I can't see it in the computer? tsk ;)

Several questions: is back up and sync replacing google drive or simply working with it? If one had drive installed on their mac is there a need to also install back up and sync (especially if one mainly wants to have drive documents available on the mac and not to back up folders from the computer to drive). Does this program replace google photos or simply work with it? Thanks, allen s.

Voice is good but didn't really cover well what and how to use selective syncing. It's what I am trying to learn to save space on my computer. Not just to upload and use as backup, but the ability to sync back to computer when need the files and changed files synced.

what you're saying about the files "being on your computer" is incorrect. the files on your computer are only links to the files that are online. if you do not have an internet connection then the files are not accessible (i.e. at about 15min in your video. the files on your screen are only 165 bytes). How can I access and edit those files without an internet connection? hence the only reason i would want to have a file on my computer and not not just have it stored on the internet.
