I like to go trade post start. Then 3 vil card - 4 axe riders card from forward war hut. Then 700 gold crates, then the 9 Cree Tracker shipment. All the while building clubs and cetan bows. It's quite strong

I found out recently how good Lakota are specially with their tepee building that boosts, gathering, attack, speed and if put near a war hut it will increase unit creation, also, there is a card that will have infantry units to created tepees, so that will give you a little bit of advantage when attacking or repelling the enemy.

Why age up fast to age 2 (and just wait for warhut to be built and shipment to be ready) when you can also age up slow with the chief (400 wood!), finish your warhut in transition and have units on the field at practically the same time, but with an additional 400 wood? :)

I just think that the first age up is the better option as it get's the axe riders out onto the field for raiding and tempo

well, let me answer you wiegie did actually doing bad selection in this video (yes really not best examples in this video To doing this fast age up you need to get ~50 more exp will be better effective , the reason why is the axe rider spawn time will be really deadly for some late age up civ china Japan will cause them unable to get wood for barracks or shrine or fast FF gold collect will be delay more such as Germany. widgie did bad cuz the shipment delay and most important thing is SCOUT THE ENEMY BASE HUNT position, many players will hit back the hunt during the age up you may get at least 2~ village or made them unable to hit back the animals force them to give up FF or other strategy So the delay will make this age up selection not best and also bad scout will make it be not effective. in this case wiegie may age up with 400 wood could be better and try to use the chief to know the enemy first age2 card will be better in this case send the 7 ceten and train 5 clab will be a counter play if enemy found your FB.

I dont think selling 100 food to get hunting dogs is a good start. Since you only get +0.08 extra food per villager, selling 100 food will make your age up slower. You can age up at 2:35 to 2:45 without hunting dogs and get that in transition or early age 2. Also, hunting dogs early in age 1 isnt as effective as in the later game since fewer villagers are receiving a buff, and the buff comes in at around 1:10-1:15. furthermore, you have to pick up the coin crates and all of the wood crates on the ground, leading to less food gathering.

I think hunting dogs is good to get at the start because it cements your eco - especially that Lakota relies heavily on food. I will give it a go and see if it's any better.
