You're the only glass artist that I've seen who uses the grozing pliers upside down. Most use the flat jaw on top. They only use the curved side on top when actually grozing the glass.

Most people use the grozers for everythink including straight cuts. When using the grozers for straight cuts or outside curves, I use the flat side up...but I rarely do that...I use the running pliers. I use the grozers mostly for small inside curves.

I'm in the process of creating a space in my home to work on stained glass projects. I am so glad I discovered your video series, you're giving me lots of tips and explanations that I didn't receive in my introductory class in person. Can't wait to get started!

Thank you! This is by far the best instruction video that I've seen. So many little details that the others overlook.

I scored 100% by making every single beginner mistake cutting glass. Thanks so much for all the detail in this video. Best one I've seen in cutting glass by far. Also it's nice to see that each piece you cut wasn't an exact, perfect fit.

Is the sponge in your jar just a regular sponge with cutting oil? Should I worry about particles getting on the wheel?
@lindaehlers81472 жыл бұрын
Yes just regular sponge. Won't damage wheel.

Very informative videos. You showed two different grozing pliers, but I could not understand you when you named them. Would you mind typing the names for me?

The green colored grozers are Fan Out Breaking & Grozing Pliers. The blue are Choice Breaking & Grozing Pliers.

Hi Linda I watch your videos often. I am having a lot of trouble cutting really small pieces . I cut them but they are never right and when I go to grind them they are so small my fingers are getting cut up trying to grind them to fit. Do you have any suggestions on how to cut very small pieces and how to protect my fingers
@greatglassgalore10 ай бұрын
Cut on the outside of the pattern line you draw on the glass. So your cut piece starts off too big. Then grind the line off. Use a Nick's Grinders Mate to hold the glass when you grind. You can try wrapping your fingers in painters tape. You can also grind all the edge a little bit before you start pushing harder to grind more material. You can also use a Grinder Cookie to push on larger pieces of glass instead of your fingers.

Great! Could you please tell me the name of the black marker that you are using?
@greatglassgalore3 жыл бұрын
The black marker is by Staedtler. I recommend the "Fine" size, but Super Fine also works.

Yes I do when cutting and using the grozing pliers (not always when using running pliers), soldering, and patinaing.
