Beginner Tips for Using Oil Paints

Some of these tips might seem like common sense but I never did any research other than following along with a bob ross tutorial which didn’t explain the paints themselves. Luckily you are here learning from my mistakes and doing your research!

Thank you for you tips! I am a beginner to oils and only paint with acrylics. I bought myself an oil beginner set and was surprised that they were all translucent. I sold them, because I didn't know what to do with it... I had no idea that there are also opaque oil colors available. ..

Most of your values can be in an Acrylic underpainting, and rest in Oils.
