If you havent i would recommend using square trim string. Cuts nice and crisp. Uses less power to cut as well. My favorite is made by stihl. Its called cf3.

For the past 5 years, I went with an EGO. I purchased a multi-tool unit, trimmer & edger. I really like this unit with switchable heads. I highly recommend a battery unit if you live in town, my lot measures 144 ft x 100 and this unit stays charges for three uses. Gas units are not made as they once did? I had a gas unit that lasted for 25 - 30 years, but units today only last a few years. This will probably be my last unit I ever have to purchase? Thanks Jeremey.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah I have a shindawa that lasted 15 years and is a great tool. I bought an echo that lasted 2 years and was a pain on the …. These batterie versions are a game changer for residential use and light commercial even.

I have the same trimmer. I really like it. However, the line it came with was too thin. It kept breaking off quickly. I went with a thicker than reccomeded line by Ego and it has worked well.

I have an Ego mower, trimmer and blower and will never go back to gas. My yard isn't too big so they serve my purpose perfectly.

No. There are different grades and build quality.

There are actually 3 types of trimmers; gas, battery and corded electric. Ego battery trimmer is excellent. 😊😊😊

Yes. There is the corded version. I still remember the Toro version from 1980. Wouldn’t even cut a blade of grass without bogging down. Hahahaha. Yeah the EGO is a good one. I would go EGO first and if not go gas.

I like to wear jogger pants when weed eating. Because all of the clippings fall right off and don't stick on them. These pants have that smooth almost plastic like material

I have not replaced my Kranzle. I am testing the big boi. The Kranzle is going back up real soon. Don’t worry man. The king will be back on the throne soon.
