So glad to have Angela describe the mechanics of hybrid picking; you can't really see very well, what's going on, because everyone's 2nd and 3rd fingers tend to both move together, even when only one is picking the string.

I’ve always wondered about this style of picking. It seems rare so I’m happy to have found your site.

Great lesson. Kind of like Travis picking using a pick instead of your thumb. Cool video. Thanks Angela.

Thank you! I do have a questions (trying to learn how to use Hybrid picking on electric guitar). Would it be best to have the ring finger cover the e string on the "D" chord and the B string on the "A" chord instead of using the middle finger for the plucking of both high strings? Just asking so I can learn the best way forward. Appreciate your help

Hello! Thanks so much for this question. To be honest, it's a matter of preference for you as a player. For me I go between using the ring finger and middle fingers when hybrid picking using the B string. Whatever feels most natural with the particular song I'm playing at that time is usually what wins for me. The most important thing is to maintain the hold of the pick with the forefinger and thumb. I hope this helps! Happy playing and wishing you continued success on your musical journey! - Angela
