Pretty good video on live aboard camping. Another tip to make the ice last longer is to freeze some of your drinking water bottles and lay them down on the esky floor. They don't melt as fast as party ice and you can drink them towards the end of the trip.

I would love to do something like this at Lake Eildon, checking out some of the camp sites that are only accessible by boat. But... ive been told that its almost guaranteed that my car will get broken in to if I leave it overnight at the boat ramp.

Best insurance policy, working automatic bilge pump. Check out Timmy Turtles channel to see why, 25ft contender sunk during the night. Bloody terrible waking up to a sunk rig.

i tot its abt the tides what make the boat upside down

I don't think a bilge pump would have saved their boat. My understanding is that they let out the forward and aft anchor before they went to sleep which I don't think is ideal, you want the bum of the boat to swing around. The tides up there are huge and I think people don't understand how much chain and rope you need to avoid catastrophic outcomes like they did.

@@turbostyler the auto bilge failed during heavy rain overnight the extra weight made anchor drag to the rocks
