White chocolate isn’t cracking and melting in your hands cause you need to temper it first. Candy melts are compound chocolate so they are already tempered.

Don’t use coconut oil , I did and my white chocolate was left with a coconut taste
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry to hear that. You only need a little. Plus every brand has different concentrations. If you don’t like coconut at all you can use melting wafers they are flavor less and do the same. Just a little harder to find 🙃

Love your video❤️ just subscribed. Question: when adding the coconut oil for consistency does it change the taste of the candy melt?
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
Depends. If you use a refined coconut oil you won’t get any of that coconut taste. If you use unrefined you may get a slight hint. Also every brand is different and their ratios are too. Just look for unrefined 🙃

The pride cupcakes are so cute! Also thank you, i wanted to make some oreo balls dipped in orange candy melts to look like pumpkins for hslloween but i was worried that the candy melts I had weren't orange enough and i didn't have any oil based orange food coloring. Now i know i can use the regular water-based ones if i add a little vegetable shortening.

Hello, i looked through the comments before I asked, didn't see answer. How do you keep the candy melts from hardening while decorating. I can be in the middle of doing drizzle and the tip would start to get hard and clog. of course where my hand is it stays melted

Oh my god!! I’m so sorry. You should always melt chocolate in intervals as it is so temperamental. Every microwave is different so there is not a set time but I always do 30 second to a minute intervals. Stirring after each one.

Paramount crystals, coconut oil or cocoa butter? Which would you recommend? 5amily.com/cooking/blog/how-to-thin-out-candy-melts
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
Well all three to be honest. I always have coconut oil on hand and it’s probably the most easy to come by (make sure it’s a refined variety so you don’t get that coconut taste). Paramount crystals are harder to come by (more specialty stores) but work best/more consistently with candy melts. If you do a lot of chocolate like milk or dark chocolate (say you’re making bars or solid chocolates) use cocoa butter.

My candy melt turns out like the white chocolate chip
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
If it gets to hard like that there’s really no going back. You can try to thin it out with coconut oil but you may lose the crisp crack of the candy melt. When melting your candy melts melt them for 30 second intervals in the microwave. Stirring after each interval OR melt over a double boiler constantly stirring. The latter will yield more consistent results but takes a little longer. If there are a few clumps or lumps the coconut oil should smooth them out

Goodmorning, do you know how long I can leave candy melts out at room temperature before it starts to melt. I wanted to decorate my cake with some candy melts and I usually leave my cakes uncovered over night to let the icing dry before covering it. Also I want to take that same cake with the chocolates on it to let it sit out a few hours at room temperature for a Birthday party. Basically the cake will be out for 2 days. But definitely be eaten on the second day.
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
Oh Yeah! So the candy melts will stay solid at room temperature. They will basically go back to the state in which they were prior to melting them. My only caution is to not put them in the fridge as they may start to sweat and just don’t keep them in direct sunlight and you should be good! Hope it turns out!!

Can you use those crystal things? I can’t remember what they are called? If not good to know I can use coconut oil
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can totally use melting wafers (crystals) to melt your chocolate. They are probably preferred because of their lack of taste and their strong meltability but coconut oil works too and is easier to come by!

YES! You can totally write or draw with it on a cake however I would recommend writing out what you’re going to spell on a sheet of wax paper and transferring onto the cake. There’s less room for error.

How many intervals did you do for the candy melts?
@CelebritySweets
@CelebritySweets 3 жыл бұрын
Every microwave is different. I like to do 1 minute then 30 seconds after that until smooth. I would also just say 30 seconds until melted is a really safe way to go!
