In this video I'm going to explain everything about Displacement Maps in Photoshop. I will talk about what displacement means in creative software such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D. I'll also show you how displacement maps actually work, why you might want to use this feature and how to make displacement maps yourself!
Displacement is a filter that uses another image (a displacement map) it’s light and dark values to manipulate the initial image. This filter is commonly used in mockups and distressing in Adobe Photoshop.
