I bought my first deck this week. Gravemother sliver deck. I won my first game ever with this deck against my friends who have played magic for decades, 0 upgrades. I still need a better mana flow and upgrade it though.

Thank you for uploading this video. just what I needed. I'm new to MTG, I actually played a few games in high school (im 33 now) :) however... recently, a good friend of mine gave me for birthday present a lotr bundle, I really liked the art of the cards and then got a sliver swarm commander deck to play at my LGS. I really like how the slivers work, its fun, but after researching some videos, ordered some upgrades for a quicker mana base and some responses ! lol

I have an old precon 60 card sliver deck and I’m looking to get back into magic. I’ll probably pick this up. The deck I have now is at least 7 years old. Too bad they don’t come out with 60 card precon decks, I find those harder to build than commander decks.

6+2=8 NOT 12. cleaving sliver only gives +2/+0 not x2/+0, also "cleaving" sliver doesn't hit 2 opponents at once.

Encore makes a sliver for each opponent you control, meaning 3 cleaving slivers would enter the battlefield and each one would buff each sliver with +2/0. So it would be 6 + 2(x3) = 12, he was right.

I'm sorry I don't follow that at all? If his sliver has +2 and you encore 3 x slivers @ +2 that's +8. How did you get to 12?

What? I'm confused. You don't get a creature copy for each opponent with encore. It's encore X where X is the mana value of the Sliver in your graveyard. You could encore multiple copies, but you'd have to pay the mana cost for each.

Encore's text from Gravemother reads as such "Exile this card from the graveyard: For Each Opponent, create a token copy that attacks that opponent if able. They gain Haste. Sacrifice them at the beginning of the Next End Step. Activate only as a Sorcery" It means that you create a token for every opponent on the field once you pay the cost and Exile Plus, the tokens all have the same ability of the Sliver exiled. So once those three copy tokens hit the field. They apply their abilities to all the Slivers. 6 (Gravemother or the Sliver Army token) + 2×3 Cleaving Sliver Copies is 12
