I'm so sorry, this is my first tutorial and I got so nervous, I kept knocking my camera stand, fumbling my weaves and I'm sure I lost the ability to English at one point. The next will be better I promise.

@@bronzerosecreations My fingernails are pretty soft and tend to shred and peel easily. I've learned to use pliers coated with "Tool Magic" to help preserve what little nails I have, LOL. Using tool magic prevents the wire from getting scratched up or showing grip marks. You'll still need to separate the wires by hand initially, but then they are more easily to manage. I've never even thought about using a guitar pick, as I don't play... Might be worth a try too!

Your tutorial has finally broken a hole in the dark cloud💭 and allowed the sunlight🌞 to shine on a one-inch piece of raw tourmaline, that I could not figure💭 out for myself and a multitude of attempts from other tutorials that never worked, and one messy accomplished wrap that covered the entire piece😡. This tutorial, your tutorial has given me the I need to show off my tourmaline. I was gifted this piece in the summer of 2001 (when we made our home here in Downeast Maine😍) and the wrap has broken twice since. I never took it off unless there was a medical necessity. It has two friends🙂, a mountain lion tooth I found in Utah, and a light green jade ring that I treated myself here. Ii's been broken for over a year. Thank you🤩!

Thank you for sharing your time, talent and techniques. This video starts with wrapping, but we don't know how to determine length of base wires before beginning to wrap - I would need that to be step 1, as a 'beginner'. Maybe there is a formula you use to determine length?
@bronzerosecreations
@bronzerosecreations Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your comment. The length of wire fully depends on the design of the pendant you wish to create. This video is just demonstrating how to secure the stone, afterwards you may be creating a complex design that requires longer wires or a simple design that requires less wire. I have other videos with ideas for different designs. Happy wrapping 😁

Hello, thank you for watching. I have a newer version of this video that may help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYS1io2IpbyWjK8 The 2,2 weave is one of the most basic weaves and stays the same no matter how many wires you have, it's like working in a zig zag pattern. If you have 3 wires, wrap twice around the lower and middle wires then wrap twice around the middle and upper wires and repeat. If you have 4 wires, calling them wires 1 2 3 and 4, wrap twice around wires 1 and 2, wrap twice around wires 2 and 3, twice around wires 3 and 4, twice around 2 and 3, twice around 1 and 2. Hopefully the new video demonstrates this better. Happy wrapping 😁

Thank you for a great video! Quick question: How long are the lead wires? I realize it depends on the size of the stone but a rough estimate would be very helpful. Thank you.
@bronzerosecreations
@bronzerosecreations 6 ай бұрын
Hello, thank you for viewing. The length of the wire depends on the size of the stone and the design you intend creating, a more complex design requires longer wires and more simple designs may need less wire. I normally go for 12 inches, that normally covers most designs with a medium sized tumble stone.

@@MDPDIY my most used wire is 0.8mm/20 guage round dead soft bare copper wire, this wire is the wire that I use in most of my tutorials. The weaving wire I use most is 0.2mm/32 guage, I like to use the thinner wire as it is good for highly detailed pieces and is easy on the fingers, thicker weaving wire can be harder to work with but some people are more comfortable with a slightly thicker wire as it is less likely to snap as you are weaving so for this design you can use up to 4mm/26 guage for the weaving part. I always like to work with bare copper, plated wires and tarnish resistant wires are OK for simple designs but the coating can easily be scratched with tools, which may not be noticeable at first but the scratched areas will go black over time and spoil the look of your work. I hope this reply is helpful to you 😁

How do you estimate how long to make the wires. I succeeded in a really pretty weave but most of the pretty was in the back :P because the wires were too short to go around to the front . Is there some kind of rule of thumb to judge length by?
@bronzerosecreations
@bronzerosecreations Жыл бұрын
The length of the wires will depend on the style of design you intend to make. With tumbled stones I don't normally have a plan, I just wrap the stone and then decide afterwards on how to finish it so I normally keep my wires quite long. I normally try to have about three times the height of the stone of wire at the top so if you measure out about nine stone lengths of wire you should be good for most designs. After a while you kind of get used to just guestimating how much wire to use. Don't worry too much about having too much wire, save the bits that you cut off and use them for other projects or for making links for necklaces or jump rings. Happy wrapping 😁
