Hey from Ivory Coast, I am from baoulé tribe we originally come from the Akan tribe from Ghana centuries ago. Our language is similar to twi. I really love to learn

Is true,the Baoule people of Ivory Coast are an Ashanti’s,it is Queen Abenaa Pokuaa who took them there after she staged a coup detat against the Ashanti empire.Queen Abenaa Pokuaa was a clever woman she adopted a lingua Franca to cover her tracks from being pursued,she mixed the Ashanti language with the Ayin language and Nzema language and also change the spellings..to form the Bauole language.Bauole means ( me ba awu).or my child is has died

But Ghanaian can start using it tho! I don’t have to say Blue in the middle of a Twi sentence or conversation when Akan Twi has a word for it; Bibire. Or Purple; Beredum, or Brown; Dodoeɛ! The more we replace Twi words we have available with English one, the more Akan Twi (or any other language for that matter in a similar situation) erodes and it’s authenticity becomes a byword. We don’t use the word “discombobulated” often, if ever in spoken language, doesn’t mean there isn’t a use for it. Don’t get me wrong. I love what you are doing and I am grateful as someone who is learning Twi for your time and resources! Thank you! But for folks like me who wanna learn the fullness of the language, moment like this makes it hard. With the lack of resources for the language in the west, it’s hard enough. Let us be presented with all the language has to offer, please do not withhold this knowledge from us learners.
