Beginning Dodge Charger Junkyard Rebuild! - Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 Gameplay

I've been completing a lot of customer jobs in Car Mechanic Simulator 2018m but today we're starting our Dodge Charger! We're not at max level yet, and I still have much more work to do to get the paint bay unlocked and gain access to all of the tools and abilities needed to rebuild the body, but today we're going to take care of all the mechanical components in our Dodge Charger wreck!

CrypticFox One thing about watching gameplay of a grind game is that the viewer learns the script. I think I know the in-game sequence for stripping and replacing the front brakes and suspension... just from a few videos.

You dont have to re pick the block from the car you take it like any part on the stand with a hold of the mouse button and just replace the block with the new one.

hmm i'll try that but it didn't seem to be giving me the option. When I had the block in my inventory and selected the stand it would only allow me to choose the old engine block

It was giving you the option when it became green. Once you disassembled everything and only engine block is left, it turns green. You take it to your inventory as everything else, by holding left mouse button

Yep, you're right. I went back and tried it out again and i just needed to pick up the block as if it were any other part, where I kept trying to use the stand to remove it. I have a scheduled video coming out later where I make a little better use of this :)

I love playing this game. It’s stressful for the tear down and I write the parts down as I’m tearing it down and then shop for them. Then as I’m putting it back together one section at a time I get excited seeing it come together

hey Fox just letting you know you are able to rebuild the engine block after you fully gutted once you click on it bring it to the workstation and rebuild it and don't forget to put your clip c on the distributor cap

Yeah i took the block over to the table but that part just got edited out. I wasn't able to repair it. The block was too far gone and it didn't give me the option. Thanks for the reminder about the clip! Totally forgot.

No I completely forgot about it actually, and there's no penalty. If you tried to take it for a drive though I think it tells you there's no oil.

I think the reason your Exterior condition is at 85% on the Charger is because you forgot to put the drivers side mirror on. Great videos though, it really looks like an interesting game. Very chill.

Two words: Crate Engine. That's what almost any mechanic would do if they're needing to buy all new parts. Great vid though by the way.

Another trick I figured out is to take jobs with one thing to do, like exhaust or gearbox, and finish them quick to get the 100 exp bonus when finishing a job.

The idea behind the dealership is you buy brand new then modify them with the block you repair like you did with the scrap parts

Hit create engine select the engine you want to build and go to add part put the block in and that’s how you create a new engine

CrypticFox I could see the green outline on the old engine block so you could remove it from the stand that way same way if it was installed into the vehicle. The repair bench but a low percentage to actually get it repaired.

In CMS 2018 you could got to the door by the front of your shop and click on it. From there you'd have the option to go to your garage.

I'm going to try but when I've had missing parts before (even if it didn't impact the operation of the vehicle) it just tells you that you're missing pieces and wont' let you go out to the track. I'd love to roll it down the street though with half of the body missing haha.

depends what you're looking for. There's a LOT in the steam workshop in terms of cars to dowload and rebuild. The DLC's to add some additional engines and a few other parts in addition to the cars that were added though. They add up over time but if you're enjoying the game they're pretty small cost for the additional entertainment.

The editing is so annoying!!!! Dude it's part of the game, let us see it, repairs is a major aspect of the game you just blow over it and you don't see the shop too. The amount of time it takes you to edit all this out when it's a fundamental part of the game... is it worth it? I don't know what your fan bases overall opinion is, if they like if, fair enough. But I've been watching a lot of CMS18 vids ahead of buying it on pay day, and you're the only person I've come across doing this and it bugs the hell out of me, I cannot be the only one. Solid build apart from that!

At this point in the game I wasn't really repairing the parts but just buying new ones, and It seemed painfully repetitive to return to the store so often. For the most part it was just the trip to the store to search for parts I edited. I started streaming the game though as well so the full process was captured in those rather than being edited :)

ahhh fair doos, it's a fine line i guess between the effort you have to go through to edit all that out and the number of people that would rage at it being left in. I'm catching up on your vids, so watched a few of the live stream posts. definitely enjoying em man, can see why your channels so popular. Once you've watched a couple your speech doesn't seem so fast :D that was mad when you go out into the "city". might be why the game is so memory intensive if that whole area is constantly rendered in the background just for some scenery at the tracks and in your parking lot.

yeah editing is definitely a fine line :) Yeah that scenery out there is crazy. They have the track built in a way so that you're not supposed to be able to get out there yet they have all that scenery.

It's because of the licensing. The names of the cards are trademarks of the various car producers. Where the car has the correct name in the game it's either a) a licensed usage where the developer paid for the right to use the name, or b) a mod that was created by someone

Yes. DLC's have additional costs. There are free mods you can get from the Steam Workshop for free
