i love how the beginning is all calm and soothing and at the beach and then the movie is the exact opposite

After staring at the DVD cover art and laughing for about 30 minutes my friends and I decided it’d be a good idea to watch this movie while high on LSD. Lights went off and this scene started playing, I have never been more terrified in my life. Especially when the camera slowly zoomed in on his face, I knew it wasn’t meant to be scary but I felt an overwhelming sense of dread come over me. I didn’t want to say anything since these were the first two minutes of the movie so I stuck it out. When the waves started crashing my friend paused the movie and turned the lights back on, I looked around and my friends looked disturbed. We agreed to turn the movie off and spent the next couple hours sitting in silence. Totally killed our trip 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I was turned off by the beginning also, but it turned out to be an amazing movie. If you grew up during the Vietnam war in the USA the movie will have more meaning. Plus you better like the Beatles. They could have done the same movie without all the Beatles songs and characters named Prudence, Jude, Lucy.

I love this movie so much and had seen it so many times. Once I saw it on LSD and it was the best thing ever, music got me feeling some type of way and the main character looked funny as hell.

My dad always listened to the Beatles but I never realized how truly amazing they were until I saw this movie. I now know more about the Beatles that most people my age and listen to their originals and the movie versions. It is a great movie but definitely no replacement for the original!

I can remember the first time I watched this movie. I was at my parent's house and my sister put the DVD in, and I asked her what movie she was going to watch. "Across the Universe" was her answer. I thought it would just be too weird, and was about to leave the room when I heard this first little ditty. That was enough to make me stay and watch. The way he stares into the camera makes the song more mesmerizing.

Because this is how love is... uncertainty. Knowing it may change or become impossible, or even end. When one catches a glimpse of how they will feel when something like that happens it is a very forboeding feeling.

The song is called "Girl" from the album "Rubber Soul". Then they added "Helter Skelter" in this mix. Had I done this movie I would have introduced them to "Please Please Me" or some of the other songs like :"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"

I've never been a fan of this actor or even his singing, I loved most of the movie. But the first time I took "a very strong substance" and then this song in the movie started it was like hearing sound for the first time in my life. It was like hearing the real Beatles live times a million.

i agree. watch across the universe is a GREAT way to introduce ourselves to The Beatles. But, in my opinion, the problem is that those covers are so good. Most of them are better than the original ones, so, try not to compare because we have to remember that when they started to make their music, their music was, IS, so diferent and original (; excuse my english :s

First i must say that i love Jim Sturgess, he is so beautiful and that voice .. is there any sexier voice out there. i dont think so.. He reminds so much of Paul McCartney from early Beatles days,, Paul has the sweet innoccent sex appeal and charm of a english boy and that sweet and sexy voice.. thats what jim has.. this movie is pure genius on Julie Tamors part.. It will take your soul on a Magical Mystery Tour... I loved it and have seen it so many times i lost count.. ITs movie magic.
