I want to thank you for this. I recently picked up a used network device and the published defaults would not work. Additionally, the "Reset" button would not reset it to the published default IP of 192.168.0.254. Because it is older it is no longer supported by the manufacturer. I followed this and was able to get that the IP was 192.168.101.70 !!!! Logged in with default credentials and now I can assign a static IP. I was also able to confirm the device actually does more than have some LED's lit. So to those who say just do a reset, that is not always a viable solution. Just because something doesn't align with your own narrow world view does not mean it is useless. This is a very helpful video and is enjoyable to watch as well.

You are indeed the ALMIGHTY! I’ve been trying to connect to my wireless ip camera for well over 2 weeks now, and tried literally everything. Although this information for you, Gandalf, is nearly self explanatory, but for us, Hobbits, is a life saver!!! So this information might well be the KEY to get to my wifi ip cam’s web UI. Thank You!! God Bless You!

OMFG! I can't thank you enough! you saved my 5mp 30xoptical PTZ camera that had been reset a few times over a short period of time and for some reason I lost all ability to find it on my network and the paperwork that came with it no longer matched it's new Static IP "I don't have a clue how that happened, but it did......." I was lost and assumed that something on the board was dead but saw nothing obvious when I opened it and looked, green status light on the rj45 inlet steadily flashed so I knew it was trying to work and for some reason just couldn't be seen with device manager or my NVR , hell not even my Router could find it in the Network Map but this method of searching for the devices Static IP saved my ass from having to buy a new camera board etc for nothing. Thank you sooooooooo much! Truly.....

Love this video, very informative. I have this exact same camera system and I hate it. It is nothing more than a time lapse system at best. This video demonstrates why this is such a junk system. Owners should not have to get this deep into this shit, and if so, it would be a lot better if Zosi had customer support in the U.S.A. Don't buy wireless, they are junk. POE is the way to go.

Ah I see, you have to match to the clients primary hex values, silly me 😜 I should have guessed that because I did a similiar thing with connecting another router as a range extender only a few weeks ago but kind of the opposite and changed to match the host (just a little more complicated than that but not much). I've got an old ip camera that I wasn't so sure about but Ill try this and we'll see, thanks 👍
@johnbruhling80183 жыл бұрын
Success, it required a java or activex compatible browser for applet support, something like IE6 lol! Right now the LAN connection prevents accessing the wifi but theres options for using multiple networks in that same IPV4 window there so I may fiddle with that too but it worked 👍

My router keeps showing a random unknown “reserved” IP address that I didn’t make. (I delete it when I see it) Could it be a hacker? Or is it a device that’s automatically making it?

Generally, you "reserve" your own IP address or mac address. Change the password and don't give it out as someone may be accessing the router without your knowledge.
