Yeah same here. The first 5 to 6 episodes were great but 7 and 8.... It was absolute deranged chaos. I felt slingshot all around leaving me confused and unable to follow the plot properly as it was just a collection of subplots where Polin became one as well. Season 1 and 2 didn't give me that at all. Much more peaceful to watch and season 2 especially, right amount of suspense, thrill, and excitement as well as subplots getting screentime.

I loved this season, but I genuinely think that if you’re going to give subplots a significant time on screen you should have more then eight episodes or make the episodes longer bc for those who didn’t read the books it all seems rush and some scenes didn’t make sense without the context of the book.

I really wanted to love Season 3 because Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton are so talented and so deserving of having their moment, but they didn't really get it. Jess Brownell et al absolutely dropped the ball. Aside from the fact that there were too many subplots taking up precious screen time, the writers relied too heavily on the fact that Colin and Penelope were longtime friends so it wasn't necessary to really dig and develop their love story. I'm actually appalled this passed muster with Shonda Rhimes. Benedict/Luke Thompson deserves his moment in the sun, but I do hope they'll at least make an effort to make up for what the Polin season lacked.

Will season 4 have the same experience with the audience as season 3! As we now know that season 3 did very well for Netflix and POLIN fans around the world love this couple 😊. I don’t think Jess understood how much the fans wanted Colin and Pen to truly be the STARS of season three. We just didn’t get enough of their story. I loved in the book how Colin stands up to the Ton and announces that Pen is Lady Whistledown. I don’t think we got to see their love for each other yet. I do hope that season four we get to see them happy, in love and having more children. But truly their love blooming. We saw way to many side stories and as a former soap opera fan I’d say, either Jess or this team of writers didn’t know how to write this ensemble piece with Colin and Pen.

I feel if Chris Van Dussen had been the show runner Colin and Pen would have featured more. He had the perfect balance in S1 & S2. We saw lots of the main couple while enjoying all the other stories too. Daphne wore 104 dresses as a main character compared to the few that Pen got (she was beautiful in all of them ❤). It shows how many more scenes Daphne was in compared to Pen! 😢

The assault happens in the "the duke and I" book so that's literally the plot, also she misunderstanding why he can't have kids. It's the plot. Maybe CVD wouldn't do the best polin adaptation, but I personally believe It could have been better than what we got.

Would love to see more sticking to Regency period because there were a bit too many elements and occurrences that contradicted not just the Regency period but things determined in previous seasons. It became wáý too background the whole Regency thing. Might as well go full modern times then because it took me out of it too many times. Didn't have that issue in season 1 and 2 where the liberties at least found a tasteful way to be. Season 3 felt like a chaotic drama series that left the viewer with a feeling of lack and things overdone at the exact same time. Part 1 was quite alright but it became worse in part 2, the writing. I would love to see less creative liberties and more sticking to the actual setting and times of the story in the next season.

Loved every scene with polin, and loved seeing more story with the hilarious featheringtons, to much was allocated to Benedict’s ,Francesca’s, Danbury and her brother and the Kent’s stories considering some will have a season. It seemed as if season 1 and 2 concentrated more on the top couples stories felt a bit cheated there. Brilliant acting from polin that’s what saved this season, and the fact their press tour showed off their chemistry and what lovely people they actually are in real life especially our queen Nicola what an asset she is to Bridgerton. Not really looking forward to Benedict’s as we have seen him soooo much in season 3 , I actually fast forwarded all his parts with Lady Tilly , don’t really know how we are going to believe e that he falls hard just for a young woman. The only one I’m looking forward to is Eloise maybe we will get more air time with her and Penelope which is a match made in heaven as friends go. And as for Francesca’s why change the gender of her next love interest is beyond me, will give that a miss too.

Obsessed with Season 2. Season 3 lacked a lot of the main couple, so it was really hard for me to get into them. I read the book a year ago, so I was really looking forward to seeing some of the relationships like Lady Danbury and Penelope and also Pen and Anthony (I really loved the book) I've read magazine interviews where Jess does give a reason for why those relationships weren't written into season 3, but I personally think it would have made more sense. Hey, you Polin fans got a lot of amazing press interaction this season while us Kanthony fans were very limited because of Covid. We'll see how season 4 goes- PLEASE do not give us 2 parts again and maybe 10 episodes will help instead of so much being squeezed into 8. 🧡💙💜🐝

​@@Sebambi What we got was great, nobody is complaining about the quality of what we did get of Polin (except for maybe how long Colin stayed as cold and distanced as he was) but more the lack of. Season 2 has a beautiful crescendo, for example. Season 1 had focus on working out married life in the second half. But in the second half of Polin.. It felt lacking and empty. We didn't get to know the characters better at all. Meanwhile, we got to know Kate tremendously as well as Edwina and also the deeper more intricate thoughts of the Viscount as well as a shown backstory even. Season 1 was very similar. But what more do we know about Colin right now other that he went traveling again, picked up charm tactics, and apparently all of a sudden wanted to become a writer? As for Pen, we got to know Pen a bit better than Colin but still not anything in depth. The focus was more on fixing the Lady Whistledown issue.

@@Sjivje No, I disagree. We saw Colin come back & adopt a new persona that Eloise & Pen immediately saw through but that his brothers & the Ton praised him for. We then hear when he's speaking to Cressida he did it because he wanted to harden himself after being disappointed that hardly anyone had reached out to him while abroad. We see his conflict in introducing Pen to titled men of his acquaintance then struggling as he thinks he's lost her to a Lord when he is just a third son. We also see how good he is at writing and he admits it's a passion. He then has to confront that part of his hate for LW is that he's jealous & work through that. All of this ends with Penelope telling him he's all she needs, not a hero, just "kind, occasionally excitable" Colin which is what leads him to his purpose - a family, being a published author & managing an estate like his brother. As for Pen, she even mirrors the line Colin says in S1 "nobody has ever taken me seriously". She finds herself supported and encouraged by Colin, with their roles reversed for once, and in this sees the courage it takes to step away from the wall & subsequently her anonymity. Both she and Colin become better people when they are authentic & stop hiding, which led them to their purpose - not each other, but supported by one another. They've seen each other at their worst & best. There's so much more but that's already a lot for 1 season.

as a huge Bton and Polin fan ... S3 had amazing cast & acting, gorgeous costumes, insanely good makeup&hair, gorgeous cinematography, phenomenal lightning (the way Pen's face GLOWS on the screen in every scene!), great music, the best and realest intimacy scenes in a TV show ever ... literally everything was close to perfection. But, writing and editing stuck out as the weakest links :( They simply tried to do too much. Less is often more ... There was no need to assassinate S1&S2 Colin's character ... have him visit brothels right before seeing Pen. The original idea of virgin Colin would have been best, or at most implied some experience during his travels, but to actually show him in brothels was such an ick. Why does every Bton male lead need to be turned into a rake??? And why was he pushed down to maybe 5th character of importance in his own season? What's the reasoning behind filling the season with unimportant characters (Mondriches, Cressida, all Benedict's lovers, Lord Anderson should have been left for S4). Why did Debling just fall off the earth after Ep4?? At least show us his reaction to the engagement announcement. The character was too good (and Sam so great at the role!) to just use him as a plot device and discard him. All we wanted to see was lots of Polin romance. All we were promised during a MASSIVE 6 month promo was lots of Polin romance. But all we got in Ep 7&8 was angry Colin, crying, lonely (yet again!) Pen that never even got a happy wedding night, and a rushed ending that skipped over alllll the happy Polin life moments we longed to see. Colin was supposed to be MADLY in love with his Penelope. Where was it? The last 2 episodes were so rushed we never get to breathe and enjoy moments of happiness. Every time an important Polin scene would cut to some way less important other character's scene without letting us breathe it in and enjoy it. Luke did such a brilliant job portraying Colin ... but he was given so little material to work with. I hope you guys realize the #1 reason S3 was this popular is because of Nicola & Luke ... and how much the Polin fans love Polin, regardless of how little room they got in their own season.

I can’t be bothered saying anything too negative, I adore the moments that worked! the actors micro expressions and intimate moments were beautiful. Luke and Nicola are stars. But I hope they pack in some more writers in the room with a passion for this project. I can feel the moments channeled by Jess and her bias/pov creeping in and it was kind of distracting and didn’t feel like an adaption, but someone creating a new world they personally prefer. A bit unfocused. Hopefully s4 rectifies any weak spots, but I’ll likely be deceased in two years lol (insane wait times) S3 let down a bit story wise with the stalemate plot beat of Polin (my most anticipated moment tbh) I was hoping for more sophisticated dialogue and actually unpacking pen’s motives, justifications, and there being proper apologies on both sides, especially with el and Colin. And hey remember her dead dad? Isn’t there any emotional beats or her navigating a neglectful household and being so isolated? Colin + el are justified in feeling upset, especially in the beginning, but as it dragged out we can all admit they reacted poorly and I’m all for miscommunication tropes, but it was straight up zero communication. I’m all for zero communication if the runtime was longer, it felt a bit shortchanged to have that all go down in the last 2 episodes and the pay off and catharsis felt very minimal and rushed.

This woman really misunderstood Romancing Mirster Bridgerton... There was no need to create this whole narrative of "teaching confidence" - yet this was not the problem at all! Colin's writing should have been more adressed. Penelope's pregnance wasn't adressed at all. We needed so much more Polin as it was their season, but it definelly feels Jess turned they into side characters and chose to foccus in another ones (maybe the ones she relates more or her favorites). Not to mention the Whistledown narrative, having the Queen to be the one to "give a price to Whistledown identity" was a great adaptation but poorly writen and the most important conflict in the book/polin love story ended up being nothing but angst and a way to make the couple fight and be misserable in their season and marriage. And with all due respect, she asked herself if she could do it. well, she didn't managed to do it the proper way so maybe you couldn't. Polin, Luke and Nicola deserved better

Nope, this attempt to glorify your failed showrunner isn't going to work on your extremely disappointed fans. Jess Brownell butchered what could have been the best, most romantic season so far by using too much of it to set up future seasons instead of focusing on the main couple, not to mention changing major plot points (the Michael/Michaela debacle, for example). This piece of propaganda is not going to work to realign your fanbase and bring them back into the fold. I'm done with Bridgerton, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I absolutely agree with you. I was big fan of these books and it breaks my heart when I saw micheala. I wanted more of polin in season three but inam so I dispointed in the part two of season three. I don't know what happened. The edit was so poorly done. And two years for each season I mean this is ridiculous. Look got. They have ten episode each year and heavy vfx, ten times bigger cast, lots of fighting scene's. If they can do it every year why you guy's waiste so much time.
