I also hope Portia and Penelope can realize how much they have in common. I think The mother is so into keeping her family safe, that she can't see that her youngest ''Kid'' is a very smart, independent and clever woman. I hope we can get to see Portia feeling proud of Penelope before the end of season 3 .

I really like the dynamics of each husband to the sisters. I adore philipa and Albion’s relationship. They aren’t the brightest bulbs, but they are really sweet together. And I didn’t realize that prudence’s new surname was dankworth lol. It’s very prudence to not care about sex because it ruins her hair. She’s a pillow princess for sure.

I love this. The Featherington family was the most interesting of all. The mother is always in a surviavl mode, which is very sad to see. So, I applaud Portia for never giving up on what she wants and keeping what's hers. Even if her methods are not always the best. She pressures her girls for their own good. It's amazing that she didn't loose her mind with all calamities that ascended on her family. I wish we can have a season dedicated to Portia like we had one for Queen Charlotte .

I imagine Portia's parents as dutiful but indifferent. Not exactly loving but not mean. Her father is of the middle-ist of classes and low title but enough to give him an overestimating self-worth. Her mother is aware but encouraging and placating him in his delusion. Which is where Portia got the idea that men don't want smart girls. I wish I could be a writer or idea person for Shonda. I'm an avid romance reader and have a small understanding of the genre.

Thank you for making the actors voice out what I always thought. I feel like young Portia was a romantic and used to read novels. Probably, this is why she is so harsh on Penelope. She is the most alike daughter. If this is her story, I would love a spin-off not only about her youth (maybe when she had to give up to love) but about her finding finally love as a mature woman. But probably, letting her 3 daughters marry(ALL OF THEM) for love, to untitled men, but very lovely men, all 3 of them, this may help Portia to heal. And Mr. Finch and Mr. Dankworth can definitely be less toxic as friends for Colin than Lord Fife, Lord Wilding, and the other Lord.

She is phenomenal when she plays challenging characters that can be hard to love, yet she lets you see the softness and good intentions behind the surface. She drew my attention to Bridgerton, and I love this entire cast now. So many strong women being beautiful and brilliant!

I watched a video the other day of compilation of Albion-Philipa Finch, some people even calling them one of the sweetest background couples on Bridgerton... although the actor of Albion FInch said that she may just say 'he'd do,' it's pretty clear that it's a love-match and the two seem to really like each other. Although their husbands may not be the 'dreamboats' they want, it's clear they marry men who will not mistreat them and seem to be into them lol. Also, the dynamic of Portia and her daughters are relatable. Literature-wise, she's not as comical as Mrs. Bennett but her push to marry off the girls is understandable in the society structure they're in. But Portia is cunning and Penelope, although she's not as verbally cutting as her mom, they both have wits about them, which manifests to L. Whistledown. They have to, to survive. Polly Walker is so phenomenal in this role, you feel grated by her sometimes but you understand her and there are times she's showing some sort of vulnerability in her gestures.

One thing that I love about Portia is that you can tell she loves her children. Due to the men in her life who have screwed her over and every possible way she has had to basically not be lovey-dovey with them, but be like you guys need to survive and that is what I’m going to do for you and I love that for her and I love that about her is that she loves her children, but love is shown in different ways and for her, she shows love for her children. They are well taken care of into society.

Portia only comes off as abrasive and even cruel because she's a Realist living in a Romance novel. She makes her choices for her family based on the harsh reality of regency life for an all-female household with a vacant title and very little money and that clashes with the Happily Ever After that the audience knows is coming because that's the genre.

The Featherington plot last season didn't grab attention at all -- it took time away from Kathony/the Sharma backstory. This season tho! Portia has made her own bed money-wisr and found some nice sons-in-law that are easy to control and have no bad habits like the past two Featherington men. Portia doesn't value Penelope because she doesn't fit Portia's survvival playbook -- her tiny waist, playing dumb so men can explain things, glaring colors, valuing security over feelings. Little does she know that Pen has success all her own, both as LW and in the love department.

I'll never understand the "Portia is a good but misurdestood mom" agenda. Did these people watch the show? Did they saw how she treats Penelope? It's very delusional to call that a good mom. Very first ep: "don't forget to bid Prudence, Philippa or EVEN Penelope AS FAR AS YOU GO". Like she is the afterthought. Or 2x6 "do you wish to end up as Penelope?" Like, maybe if you properly adressed her and helped her she wouldn't "end up" like that. And how not leaving with Jack is a sign of good parenting? Leaving with him would be dumb, he was a sinking ship. She made the smart choice not the motherly one. I love Polly's acting skills but Portia is no mama bear.
