The S-64 Sky Crane’s maximum weight capacity is 25,000lbs I’ve used it twice to dismantle tower cranes. The pilots confirmed this weight capacity during pre dismantle safety meetings this was in Atlanta, Ga.

I think the Army made a huge mistake selecting the V-280 Valor over the Defiant. The axial rotor system design is flying on Mars and is more maneuverable that the Valor.

The Defiant was a poorly handled project by Sikorsky and Boeing. That's why it did not get selected.

I live on top of a mountain situated on the flight path of our local airport. I see all types of aircraft including many types of helicopters. The Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane is my favorite.
