First of all army is only for external agression not for internal. CRPF and Ghatak and Cobra forces deal with insurgency not army. They are poorly equiped. Insurgency is supposed to be countered by the police and para military forces. The Indian army is not supposed to be used against our own citizens. No Lethal and deadly weapon will b allow to use according to law. If cease fire broke out. Nscn could tackle easily against those untrained para military and police forces.They have that guerilla skills unlike those weak indan armies For instance,The Naxalites operate in a wide area that is filled with deep forests, mountains and rivers. The area affected is bigger than Vietnam, the terrain is difficult and task is hard (identifying who is the friend and who is the enemy). If US Army found it that hard in Vietnam, it is not going to be a cakewalk for the Indian Army to fight against NSCN such a guerilla war in a massive terrain. Armies have a lot of fire power, but none of the world armies are trained to tackle sustained guerilla warfare. It will be a really expensive war. .
